You can use your key. Look at the instructions to use a 1 inch and 3/4 inch spacer that's what I did. Takes about an hour and a half. Different years have different wire colors but almost all found and listed in that thread.

machphil - The King Ranch didn't have one in '13.
And just for the record... A factory power tailgate lock wasn't available for any gen'12 (2009-2014) F-150.
