Loving the new truck after 6 weeks
Hi All,
Just thought I'd share a photo of my truck (2013 XLT SCab 4wd) now that I've had it for 6 weeks. I added a Weatherguard 127-0-02 saddle box, an Agricorp Access Rollup Toolbox cover and Weathertech mud flaps.
My previous truck was a 2003 F150 XL (bought surplus from the state Department of Natural Resources, even got a free rock hammer as part of the deal). I know there is 10 years between them but I'm still amazed at the differences.
I have to say that I'm loving the turbo hiss - I thought I'd miss the rumble of the V8 but every time I hear that I can't help but think it's cool.
Ford has done a great job with these trucks - So impressive that I'm really interested to see what the next model refresh looks like and mine isn't even paid off
Anyway, hope everyone had a great break and have a safe 2013.

Thanks guys.
I got the SCab because it's just the wife, dog & I. I went with the XLT because I could get the options I wanted with a cloth bench seat in the front (I like having the dog sit up front with me and my wife won't sit in the back )
The EB is great, the first truck I've owned where you can feel it press you into the seats when you stamp on the pedal. Economy wise I'm getting 14 around town currently and over 20 on the freeway (800 miles so far, I hear that it should improve once the engine wears in a bit after a couple of thousand). Haven't moved any heavy loads yet but I can't imagine that I'd be lacking any power.
The one thing I did do that made a difference was to swap out the Wrangler SR-As for a set of Michelin LTXs and it feels much more secure in the wet. We had 4-5 inches of snow out in the Hood Canal here in Seattle and I had zero traction problems on the dirt roads to the cabin. Plenty of power from the engine too.
looks good how is the Eco in the xcab
