5.0 SCT Custom tunes

Truck sounds mean, what exhaust is that? I know I have a ghost tune in my 2012 5.0 and it has never hunted like that but the tune is fattened up big time on idle for the ghost cams. I was told that if you have cars not to let it idle for long periods or you will carbon up the cats big time.

From a stop he won. nothing like a boosted 4wd launch i cant keep up with that. but from a 20 roll i won by a truck length

I'm curious if 5.0L guys who have custom tunes have had any misfire/stutter issues on WOT runs.
Never cared about spark plug gap till I put a custom tune in my EB.
On WOT runs it would misfire, throw codes(seen on Torque phone app)but check engine never come on.
Rpm flutter, hear it and feel it along with codes.
Guys have found spark plug gap from factory to be all over the place, usually way too much.
Mine were .040-.042
Ford spec is .034.
Tuners recommend .030
Anyway turbo engines have more issues with this but still curious if 5.0L guys have experienced it at all on tuned engines.
At least they made the EB plugs are super easy to get to....

Mpt
Posted this as a thread in another forum, but here was my review:
So today I installed my tune from MPT. I had a half of a tank of 87, so I filled the rest with 93 octane, then drove the truck a short while to make sure it was mixed to at least 89 octane. Anyway, I installed the tune right before work at a nearby parking lot. That way I could still get to work just in case SHTF. The tune took a while to load but it went very smooth. I gingerly drove the last 100 yards to work and the first thing I noticed is how damn awesome the truck sounds now, even at quarter throttle! The truck is 100% stock otherwise.
Well, it was a long day of work and i was finally ready to give it a try. Since it was cold, I made sure to drive it a couple miles to warm up. Then I turned onto the interstate on ramp. Hot Damn. This truck rips now! The truck is stronger at all RPMs. Furthermore, it's almost as if the truck came stock with a loose throttle cable and the gurus at MPT tightened everything up. It's the only way I know how to explain it. I am simply blown away on how fast the truck is now and how great it sounds. As an added benefit, the truck downshifts in normal mode much akin to tow/haul mode on a stock truck but not as aggressively. This setup is perfect since even though I save gas by coasting, you can only coast so far. Simply put, it is setup such that I hardly need to brake, yet I can still coast a long ways. Beautiful!
The turn around time for the tune was around a week and I could not be happier. To the crew at MPT - you guys rock!
