advice on a 2010 lariet
Local dealer has a f150 ,lariet, white ,5.4 30,000 miles.Truck drives great, looks clean as new.Does seem to have quiet a loud exhust(after market muffler?)anyway, price is at 24000 .20 in scorpians, all perferct as far as I CAN SEE>So,I ask the pro's ,what do y'all know about this vehicle and motor.I heard horror stories of plugs breaking on some years trying to remove.I have a sweet 99 lariet ,48000 miles ,clean ,but the 4.6 just dont do it pullin my 4000 lb travel trailer. Also,is there ANYWAY I can see if the 2010 has been tinkered with by programming etc.For SOME REASON this truck has sat on the big dealer lot for over 2 months and hasn't sold.i know the warrenty expires in 6 weeks,AND spoke with ford ,givingthe vin and they will sell me a 3 yr extension with coverage JUST LIKE the new warrenty. OK ,thanks in advance for all the advice. mike

The 2010's are good trucks. The plug problem was solved in 2003 or 2004 when the heads were redesigned. The 5.4 is a good engine that won several awards when it first hit the market and has been tried, tested and is true. The 2010 version has 310 h.p. which is more than enough for most chores. If the only thing the truck has is aftermarket exhaust it is not likely that the ECM has been messed with. $24,000 seems like a really good price for a Lariat. Ask the dealer for a CARFAX report.
