I'd get an FX4 purely for the dash/interior. I'm not really crazy about the interiors on the 09+ F150's to begin with but IMO the FX4 has the nicest interior out of them all.

Your call

Since you are not going to tow or carry anything heavy, then you don't need a real truck. If I were you, I would go with the the pretty one, get the FX4.

Unsure of that package fx4, but if it has projector hid lights, thats the way to go. The standard halogens are terrible on 09+. Other than that, I dont really have any preference between the 2.

lol "don't need a real truck". Im in the oil and gas industry so i carry heavy stuff a lot just don't need to tow a trailer often since the company trucks get that duty. This truck will also serve to get me to all of my hunting spots.

Im leaning toward the fx4 now. both are nice but that flow through console is nice and the added a/c vents are a welcome addition for texas summers.

The 401A Equipment Group includes these features, plus standard features.

- Power adjustable pedals

- Reverse sensing system

- Power-sliding, privacy-tinted rear window with defroster

- Power, heated side mirrors with turn signal indicator

- Rear view camera

- Integrated Trailer Brake Controller

Lux package 402A has that feature.... salty upgrade ($5,420 then $1k deduct before final MSRP), but worth it IMO.

You have to decide if it's worth the extra $10K to get the upgraded interior and other appearance stuff. For me, it wasn't.

I do love the looks of the FX4s, so I worked 'free' leather into my deal then added some FX4-like appearance mods that didn't cost anywhere near $10K.

To each his own. If it's worth the extra money to you, go fer it! If not, the lowly, 'cheap' XLTs can be modded quite nicely for not a lot of dough.

I just bought a 2013 FX4 5.0, black on black with cloth seats. The only difference I saw between the XLT and the FX4 was the center console (My preference) and the instrument cluster. Personally I went with the 5.0 for two main reasons Turbo's are extremel;y expense especially times two, and the EB only has 5 more horsepower, and 40 more pounds of torque ( at the fly wheel) and if you read the news Ford is currently in a law suit over the failure of the EB's in certain conditions.

Personally, I am a fan of STX's. Cost less than an FX4 and no having to worry about carpet on the floor getting torn up. Mine is about as barebones as you can get. I like it that way. Less electronic crap that can fail on me.

Amen, bro. I'll drink to that.

Wait until one of the seat heaters stop working, off warranty.

Cost me 500$ 10 years ago.

16 months later, it quit again.

All depends on what u like. I personally don't like chrome and like the shifter on the console. The 5.0 definitly runs good and sounds badass straight piped (buddy has a fx4 5.0) I would buy the fx4 but if u got some extra cash go buy a raptor lol

Exactly, my "cheap looking" XLT has quite a few mods and between my new BF T/A tires, level and Katzkins, I am still sitting at less money put in than if I would have bought the FX4. I will got with an XLT any day. With that being said, I am still a little skeptical on the EB, just from personal reasons/experiences. Congrats on coming back to the F-150 though!!

After putting the flow through console in my truck, I don't think I could go back to the jumpseat setup--I just like the look too much. I've got less than a year left to pay on my truck, but I'm gonna wait for the NBS to see how they do--around the 2nd year I'll prolly park my Grey Ghost and get a new truck.

All that said, it'll be an FX, either 2 or 4 lol
