Also, Michelin LTX AT2, excellent but expensive.

I had a couple of sets of the BFG All Terrain KOs on my last truck and loved them. On my 2012, I wanted to stay with a P rated tire when I dumped the Pirelli Scorpians, so I went with the Firestone Destinations. So far, they have been great and did well in the snow and ice too. Toyo also had a tire that caught my eye, but they had no stock.

Take Care

My 2004 FX4 came with the BFG Rugged Terrain from the factory and I got about 50000 miles out of them. Replaced with the same and when sold it 6 weeks ago they had around 40000 miles with tread left. I would recommend them highly. Good mileage, low noise and decent traction. Some of the tires being discussed are made somewhere other than the US. That is the FIRST thing I look at when I'm making a major purchase. Not made in this country, I move on.

I believe Michelin is French and the owner absolutely hates hourly employees. I'll stay with BFG (USA) and be very happy to keep Americans employed

I put the LTX/AT2's on my 2008 F150, and on pavement wet or dry, they were great, but on snow or wet grass the truck couldn't get out of its own way. I'm looking for my F250 now, and am considering the Cooper Discoverer AT3's. The BFG T/A's were my first choice, but I'm concerned about the fuel economy cut.

What about raised white letters on my 2010 Harley? What do you all think? OWL's in 20" are really limited.

Hate to burst your bubble but Michelin bought BFGoodrich Tires in 1988. Some might still be made here but the money goes to Michelin.

EDIT: If you knew much about hourly French employees you would know why he doesn't like them. They might be the most worthless workers in the world.

I'm gonna need new tires on my F250 this fall. It will be interesting to hear your choice, as I'm looking at BFG T/A's and Discoverer AT3's myself (I've got 20's too).

As far as OWL's, I say DO IT! A truck NEEDS OWL tires (IMO).

It's not so much bursting my bubble. The size I want has limited makes (285-55-20). Cooper doesn't make it, Goodyear is 285-60, so it's either Toyo or BFG. I chose BFG and at least the manufacturing part is USA. Something is better than nothing.

Well, 20's with OWL's are limited to the T/A's. I don't want mud terrains or off road boots. The only other choice I see is the Wrangler AT/S's I have now, or the Michelin's. Not impressed with eithet on this heavy of a truck. If I go OWL, it will be the T/A's, and I'd better get moving as tow season is almost here.

I think BFG has the Rugger Terrain in OWL, which is a fairly new tire, but it's not quite as aggressive as the T/A. I will probably go with the T/A's myself as I really like the look.

Have you researched the Cooper Discoverer AT3? Help yourself out and research these tires.

The Silent Armour had a problem with the tread tearing. This happened to one of my tires, but they did not recall my size. I wouldn't buy Silent Armours again.

My BFG AT KO had all kinds of balancing problems. I also didn't like how they performed in the snow and the tread tended to scratch badly.

The Cooper Discoverer AT/3 is my current tire and my favorite. It is a newer tire. The quality is high, they look great and they also happen to be the cheapest. Very good traction. They get great reviews.

I just put a set of the Cooper AT3s on my brother's truck. So far he has only put a couple hundred miles on is so the jury is still out. But they do look good and have good reviews. As another plus they are made in the USA.

Too bad Cooper doesn't make the size I need. They should look into what's hot right now. 285/55/20 or 285/60/20. Not everybody wants a rollerskate tire under their truck 305/55/20.

What do you mean by rollerskate tire? They have the factory 275-55-20.
And the 305-55-20 splits the difference between the two sizes you
mentioned. What difference does it make if its right in the middle of the two sizes?
