yeah people are crazy. This happened by Kermit on hwy 302. The lady driving the truck had to taken to odessa in the helicopter because she flew out of her truck. needless to say she wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Just recently went through this as I totaled my wife's car on Dec 26. I had information that the car was going to be totaled the 2nd week of the new year. In Texas the vehicle has to be declared a total loss if the damage is 80% of the appraised value.

luis, I'm very happy that you, and your parents weren't badly injured.

I hate a damn drunk driver. There is absolutely no justification to drive impaired.

I know it looks bad, but just because there was liquor in the cabin doesn't automatically mean alcohol was involved in the cause. Until they do the blood work and cite for operating under the influence, it may have just been a drive back from the liquor store to a party (for instance).

Looks like the truck is totalled, but really it doesn't matter. Only thing that matters are the people involved. If they are all ok, the trucks can be replaced/rebuilt.

Except at least one of the bottles was open. That is illegal in most states. That alone may make the other persons fault.
Most certainly it is good that his parents were not seriously injured, but what if they had not been driving an F150.

Some drunk hit our Chevy 1500 work truck and totaled it. Our truck was at a stop light and the drunk hit it from behind doing 60mph.

Travelers insurance paid us in about a weeks time. I got on them right away and they had an estimator out at the tow yard in about 3 hours. Accident happened at 3:15am and we had a number around noon. Got a check after I did my part of the paperwork in about a week. Gave us a little more than what it was worth and got our deductible back! Unfortunately we lost an employee due to a neck injury. 3 blown disks in his neck.

Hope your parents recover quickly and hope all goes well with the insurance. I know what you're going through.

Wow.. Glad your family is ok! Being Midland area, there's a good chance it was a DWI... I know alot of oil field workers and when they get off thats the first thing they go for is the bottle.. The oilfield is picking up here around San Angelo and already have been alot of dwi's and most are oilfield..

Are you going with another f150?

28k may be wishful thinking - book is around 22. Maybe your FX4 is worth that, but this is a 3.7 2wd XLT.

KBB retail is $25,700 with 35,000 miles and I didn't add any extra options above and beyond the 2wd XLT with the 3.7L 6 cyl.
