How to spend money: buy a new F150.

Bought a 2013 Plat out-of-state on b-i-l's advice. Good advice. No pressure, no messing about with prices other than q&a on options. 5.0. 3.55, 6.5 box, everything but the max tow.

Here's the sticker:
http://www.inventory.ford.com/servic...FW1EF9DFA19838

Does not include wheel well liners ($117) and spray-in bedliner ($375) done by the dealer, the 7yr/75k service and maintenance contracts ($3,000), doc fee ($150), Idaho sales tax ($2,490). $2000 trade-in (1999 Explorer, generous in my estimation), $5,000 mfg rebates (incl. $1,000 via FMCC for financing min $10k for min 3 mos ... easy, saved about $985).

OTD then was about $49,000.

Then you start messing with it:
Stubby antenna (Craven) - $25
Box mat (Ford accessories) - $148
Cargo organizer (Ford accessories) - $117
Fuel lock (Ford accessories) - $26
Bullrings (bullringusa) - $59
Mirror reflector replacements (black LED, Recon) - $125
3rd taillight replacement (black LED, Recon) - $115
Puddle lights and license plate light replacements (LED, daytimebrightlites) - $78
Dome and map light replacements (LED, daytimebrightlites) - $20
Carport (Lowe's) - $1,716

Total - $2,429

If I hadn't gone for the full plate on the Plat, it would have been all-out on an FX4 and the price would probably have been about the same.

I think Ford's got a great product in the 2013. Haven't found one thing that doesn't work right or otherwise to carp about. Whatever you go with, I'm sure you'll be pleased. Know all discount and rebate options, as I'd bet you do. In my case, the EcoBoost would have cost $1,100 more and I would have lost $1,500 in rebates (love the 5.0).

Essentially everything but tires and gas. What it is mostly is prepaying. Prior to signing, the sales agent, finance guy and I sat down with a spreadsheet showing normal maintenance/service costs (given the recommended intervals) after the 3yr BTB expired. Yes, it was their numbers, but I don't doubt them as std charges: 1 - because they were very forthcoming with all prices on the truck options (which I had thoroughly researched); 2 - you are going to pay (considerably) for engine/transmission/drive axle/AC/electrical/braking/suspension/steering/fuel system components service if not covered (those costs added up to well over $5k over that 7yr/75k period); 3 - Ford charges you $134 for a set of rear well liners (from Ford Accessories) and you get to pay shipping/tax and install them yourself ... these guys charged me $117, installed. A local yokel dealer sales mgr was going to charge $285 and the dumbarse sales shlep didn't even know what they were. They couldn't have had more than 300 F150s on their lot. Say goodbye! My dealer has credibility dating to 1928; Pingrey Ford, Selah, WA (and yes, I got the song and dance about how they would only make $500 on the deal). And then we go the fuel depot and he sticks $120 of regular down the pipe on his card. Think I'll call on that one.

All I know is that hefty purchase is covered to the max for 7/75, I pay $0 for virtually everything, and my VIN gets me into any dealer with checks/service/recalls/etc. ready to go. Oil changes $0, don't even have to pay for wiper blades.

The maintenance and service contracts are transferable.

I just bought a new 2013 XLT 4x4 SCREW two weeks ago. With the XLT Plus Package, Chrome Package (got to go!), Towing Package and Off-Road Package. Skid plates, off road suspension, spray in liner, power sliding rear window, backup camera & sensors, etc.
I paid $34,500 and got em to throw in a "free" pair of FX4 Floor mats. . lol. I could have bought a Lariat or FX4 but I didn't want leather so I went this route.

2013 Platinum EB 2wd - 5.5 bed. sticker was 52K. dealer added a bedliner, floor mats and a couple of other doodads. down to $40K price. gave me $3K on a worn out 03 Expy XLT 2wd.

nicer than most Benz and Jags I've been in and/or owned. everyone freaks out on the Sync system voice commands and the stereo is really nice. I love the a/c seats and remote start so the truck is comfy before I get in. old man syndrome.

Hi guys. Lurked over here for several years whenever I needed to help a friend with F-150 questions but never joined. I just bought a 2013 SC F-150 so I figured it was time to join .

I paid $23,100 for my truck. It's a 2013 SC with 5.0 STX with a factory spray in bed liner. The MSRP was 32,970 according to my sticker. If your in the Houston, Texas area there are still several of these listed anywhere from 21,500 to 23,000 at different dealers.

What state are you in? Can't tell you why, but trucks are a little cheaper in Texas. You didn't get completely taken to the shed, but there was a good amount of meat left on the bone. Believe me, some poor bastards pay close to sticker . . .

That's not a bad deal Darren. Nearly 10K off ain't nothing to sneeze at on a 2013. I had to work like a dog to get $8450 off my '13 Platinum. As previously stated, we can't all live in Texas.

I dealt with the internet dealer at my LFD and I dont think prices have changed much since buying mine in 2011. My sticker was $43k and i got it for $35,500 ($40K and change after TTL) and that is with the Ecoboost upcharge. The Explorers on the other hand, i believe are not getting much rebates off at the time. I asked my guy about one of those for my wife and he said they are selling so good that they dont have the rebates like the trucks do. The trucks are still selling like hotcakes though.

Currently working a deal on a 2013 FX4 gray with black leather, 402, moon roof, navi, factory spray bed liner, 3.73k, 20's and bed step option
Sticker is $50,265, $4766 off sticker gets me to $45499
Going to give me $15,500 for my 08 acura tl with 69k miles that is above norm clean, I am serious OCD.
Tax at 7% is $2099.93
title license $196
dealer doc $189
sub total is $32,483.93
rebates $5,500
final out the door $26,983.93

Hardest decision now is if I want to part with a good running car that has many years left in it and part with the cash.
