I could be changing my mind and going with a new F150 FX4. Some others have suggest to me that I could get up to $12K off the sticker. Please, if you have purchased a new F150 this year please give the amount you paid and just how you went about getting the lower price. I would like to have some examples to give the sales people as they are sure to tell me that must have been some stupid dealer who gave that price or a unique situation. Thanks.

 

I'm fairly certain you can get invoice minus current rebates, which is around 7000-8000 off. At least this is what I was quoted in the last week.

 

Go to Edmunds.com and build the truck you want. The site will give you MSRP, invoice, and an average of what folks are paying for the same truck in your neck of the woods. You will also be able to see available rebates and financing deals.

Next, hit up the Internet sales mangers at your local ford dealers... Ask for their best Internet price. You should be able to get somewhere close to invoice less any available rebates. Don't go in and work with the yahoo that has to make fifteen trips to the manager... Deal with the guy that can make a deal.

You are going to have to do some research and dig for the best deal. I'm lucky because I have a guy that doesn't haggle, he gives me invoice less rebates every time without haggling, or better when he can. As a result, he gets all of my business, and my families business.

 

I've been on the phone with several dealers in my area today. In fact, I've been on the phone with all of them for at least 5 hours talking, negotaiting.

The best prices I've come up with so far


2013 FX4 (loaded) - $34,500.00
2013 XLT 4x4 (with offroad pkg and loaded with goodies) - $33,711.00
2013 XLT 4x2 (loaded) - $29,200.00


That sound about right? Good lord, now I find myself considering a 4x2. It's not like I go offroad much. In fact, I used to own a rock crawler buggy and just light 4wheeling just doesn't really cut it for me after that so I really don't do any offroading. And if I did I doubt I would be going with a Ford. I probably would find an older Taco and build it up a bit. Arrrgh, I can't make up my mind. All I do know is I want a full size newer Ford F150 lifted. I just know that 95% of the time it will be on pavement.

In the end, the 2010 FX4 I was set to purchase for $25,850 (which is in KY, and I'm in Phoenix) with 60K miles is only a little over $3K less then a loaded 2013 4x2 XLT and I wouldn't have to pay $1200 in shipping to get the truck here. Cmon fellas, weigh in here. Give me your thoughts on this situation.

 

as a younger man all i wanted was the lifted 4x4 with all the bells, whistles and whatever else come on it, i had it. after getting older I realized that was all for nothing but show. When it came down to it, who the heck was I trying to impress. I wasnt in high school anymore. I already got the girl and have wonderful kids. I went with the 2012 xlt 2wd and enjoy every minute im in it.

Personally I would pass on the 2010 fx4.

 

What is your obsession with lifting a truck if you aren't going to offroad it?

 

Well one of the dealers called me back and they're making an offer I don't think I can pass up, honestly.

2013 F150 XLT 4x2 (loaded to the hilt, even includes rear locker) - $28K even

He told me back in like Feb this year it could have been another $1K off from that but it's a certain rebate not offered anymore.

Still, even though you want to be focused on price, in the end you have to get a truck you like or it's all for not. My biggest thing was I wanted a full size newer F150 that I was going to lift. 4X4 is nice but it's just not something, after going over and over it, I was going to use very often. Even my brother (who has a full sized Tahoe 4x2) who lives in CO, says he never has a problem on snow as long as he puts sands bags in the back for weight, and on the moderate rough dirt roads he never gets stuck. Well now that I know there is this option to get the 4X2 with a locker, it's almost a no brainer. As I said before, it's not like I'm going to go hard core offroading with this thing. I would just get some used beat up Jeep for dirt cheap if I wanted to go that route. I wanted a nice looking new full size F150 I could lift up 4" that wasn't going to thrash my bank account. At $28K I'll probably just pay cash and not even worry about the finance (and no, you can't get 0% if you use the rebates instead, it's one of he other).

I think my mind is made up. It's a new 2013 XLT 4x2 with locker for me.

Ohhh, I almost forgot, I did have one question. I know with putting some 35's on the truck, that putting new gears on is going to be something I will do in the future. But when new gears go on (something like a 4.56) that means the locker won't work, correct? Is there a locker that would work with the Ford setup to match those gears? Or, if I used a good programmer, would I even need to change the gears (thus, keeping my 3.55's and not having to worry about find a new locker for lower gears). Any help on that would be huge. I like how it looks. Not as if I'm going to put some monster lift on it. Definitely 4" or less. I just really like that look over how it sits with a slight lift vs stock. It's just now my thoughts are you don't have to have a 4x4 for it to be lifted. There are plenty who have lifted 4x2's. And I will get myself to some nice backroads and such, especially with a lift and the rear locker.

When I had my rock crawler, of course I had a transfrer case that would allow me to be in 2WD (rear) and 4WD (open) and then 4WD (lARB's ocked front and rear) and honestly I could do quite a few trails while not even being in 4WD. Just lower the tire pressure and the lower gears and tires did quite a bit of it, and you have to have some good clearance (and that's where a larger tire comes in handy).

This was my old buggy. Definitely not going to be even attempting this with my F150.....hahaha. But I may build another one some day so I'm not looking for my F150 to do any kind of serious off roading with. Just mild stuff.

 

That's a good price for a 2013 XLT SuperCrew loaded. It easily could be $40k or more MSRP.

 

I assume it has a 5.0? You should be okay with 3.55's if you get a programmer. The 6 speed tranny has a nice low 1st gear. Only downside is it may not hold 6th on the freeway when you hit a hill.

If you do decide to regear, I wonder if the Raptor locker is compatible? I believe the Raptor has 4.10's. I think 4.56's are a bit extreme for 35's.

 

Just did this a few days ago.. Traded my 07 Fx2 with 80k on it for $14,250. Bought a 13 xlt ecoboost supercrew for 29,700 with ttl.. 12,000 off sticker..It wouldve been 13k off but i didnt finance the truck so i lost a 1000.

Total price out out the door was 15,450

 

Well the whole locker and gear issue is making me lean towards a 2" level with going with a 33" inch tire. I know the 3.55's will be fine (with programmer) with that tire size and I wouldn't have to worry about the locker and I'm sure the the shorter lift and smaller tires just gives it a bit more road handling. Might have to go with a look similar to this truck. A;though part of me is still really wanting to go with a 4" and 35's

 

Got my 2013 Lariat 4x4 ecoboost for $40,800 after rebates. Sticker was $51,800

 

We picked up a new 2013 F-150 Platinum a week ago today.

It seems to be fully loaded, the only things I need to add are wheel well liners and some kind of bed cover.

The dealer had added a spray-in bed liner, wheel locks, tinted windows (not sure I like them on the front) door edge guards and some other things.

It also had the moon roof and 3.55 electronic locker.

We paid $39,000 + TT&L.

Loving the truck.

Sticker on my 2013 FX2 w/ 402A package was 45240. I bought during truck month so there were some extra rebates I think.

Price after rebates was 33988
After trade in, and TTL i was out the door for 29K.
