got my first f150

Found an XL with the 5.0, 4wd, power locks/windows, chrome bumpers, select shift/tow package, 3.55, cloth seats, etc... I want to first put some nicer wheels on it from the lariat or other premium model, get a bed liner, paint the upper bumper cover, and a chrome grill from an xlt. it was a leftover special order from 2012. bought with 8 miles on it. it definitely looks bare bones right now lol. loving the 5.0 and truck overall so far.

5.0 is a great motor. lots of take offs out there, on here and craigslist. just avoid the pirelli scorpion tires on them

Pickup looks sweet. Best thing about barebones is that you get to make it just the way you want it!. Look around the Personal Classifieds section on this forum and you will have no problem finding chrome grills for a fraction of ebay prices.

Not at all! Hell I am only one trim level up from you. Had I found an XL that met my requirements, I would have bought one. Enjoy!

Doesn't matter the model/trim, you got yourself a new F150. 8 miles, wow?! Plus you got the 5.0, 3.55, SelectShift, etc.

There is so much great know-how, tips, "things I like, or don't", mod ideas, and problem-solving here that I don't see many put-downs. Nearly all here are articulate/inquisitive/helpful.

Does look like you have a great canvas.

Kind of a frat, I guess. Congrats!

yeah I was surprised to find an xl with everything I wanted, and I got a great deal on it so I jumped on it. I know it is easier to change a grill than an engine.

Thanks! Yeah it was hidden in the back of the fleet lot. the fleet manager said they were trying to buy it for themselves lol but who knows. I like the community here already. It is such a great sounding engine! It is only slightly slower than my s2000 haha.
