Just picked up a new 2013 XLT Screw 4x4. Mod time!

2013 F150 XLT SuperCrew 4x4 5.0

It took me awhile to find this exact truck but i finally did! I didnt want leather but I wanted some of the "nicer" things. Also wanted it in Gray with captains chairs and the 5.0.
So I went with the XLT and added the XLT Plus Package and the Off-Road Package. It sucks but if you get these two options together it also will have the Chrome Package. . So I have some work to do. It has the backup camera (in the rearview), sensors, skid plates, sliding rear window, bedliner, towing package and so on. It's not as "fancy" as the Lariat, FX4 and such but its nice I think. I work in/with my truck, a lot, and will put about 35k miles a year on it.
I plan to do quite a few mods so I thought I'd start a thread.

Disclaimer: I'm no "pro". . I have a 5 year old son and a 2 week old son so I'm also on some what of a budget. A lot of what I'll do to my truck I learned, or am learning, on this site! lol. But please ask away if you need any more pics or info.

Right before leaving the dealership...

I bought it almost 2 weeks ago. Mods so far...

Leveled. 2" Auto Spring front spacers and 3" Auto Spring rear blocks. Also got the 20% tint on the front widows.

All I have to say is don't go too blingy on the wheels and tires. Less bling. Just make a solid 4x4 off-road pickup. Keep the pics coming and keep us updated.

99and04, I got em here. Cheapest I could find. They look way better with out that front reflector in them to me. They just pop out and the new ones snap back in. 1 minute install.

I got the new wheels and tires put on yesterday. I'll get a pic up tomorrow.

New oem matte black "4x4 Off Road decals" for the bed sides came in the mail today too! Also picked up my "new" grille today and I'm going to PTM the surround this week hopefully and get it on there.

Nice looking rig and great mods so far!! FWIW, Reconlighting.com also sells the mirror reflector replacements and you can get the plain black, or clear reflector or you can get clear or amber reflectors with turn signal LED's. That's what I did and wired them into the turn signal LED's already in the mirror housings. Get lots of looks/compliments from other F-150 owners. Good luck and keep the pics coming!!

Maybe I should have looked into those. I saw the recons (all those same options you mentioned) but didn't want to drop $85 on two little reflectors. Figured I would just go black for $25. . But those that flash with your turn signals are pretty sweet!

17" TKO Wheels and 315/70/17 (34.4x12.5) BFG TA KO's are on!! And for the record, I'm NOT a fan of this mcguire tire shine I just picked up. Way to "wet" looking IMO.
I guess it's because the truck is on my sloped driveway but in the pic the truck looks like it has a lot more rake than it actually has.

One of the best things I did with the new truck was to add the Recon LED turn signal replacements for the stock mirror reflectors and then Recon's LED 3rd taillight (both black). All around better look and improved functionality.

Perfect with Sterling Gray.

I'd also like to toss in a plug for Dan Smith at Daytime Brightlites.

http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/

I used his puddle light, license plate, map/dome LED replacements and all are phenomenal. The running boards are clearly visible at dark, front-to-rear (PRBs @ 7'1"). The front of the cab is bathed in whitest of light, side-to-side, and the effect is stunning. There is no comparison to stock.
