If you want to spend 25-30k you are probably better spending a little more and buying brand new. IMO.

29k for a 3 year old 5.4? No way... Atleast look at the 2011 and up trucks, That way you can get the new engines.. I paid 29k and some change taxes included for my 2013 Xlt.. Spend another 5 or 6k and get you a new fx4.. Good luck

As was mentioned above, there is no way I would spend that kind of money on a truck 3 years old with 40k miles. You can, at the very least, get a 2011+ truck with the new motors in that price range. Or, you should be able to get a 2013 4x4 XLT screw in the $30-32k range.

Here in Texas the new ones are almost the same as 11 or 12s.. I was on the same situation a few months back and the great members on here said to go check new prices.. Next day I ended up with a new 13.. There was a few used 2012 xlts that the asking price was the same that I got the new truck.. Also just FYI 10 to 13k is what some people are getting off sticker.. I couldve got 13k off but since I didn't finance I lost 1k. Ended up at 12,000 of sticker

It's crazy in my area of NC also. Two year old used, oops I mean pre-owned are selling for nearly the price of a new one. Go for the new, you won't be sorry.

Possibly or if not from there, there are others that will. 25% off $42.2k is $30.9k If you're not getting 25% off a 2013 XLT with Chrome Package, come back here and the forum will steer you in the right direction.

junk 5.4L?

You weren't going to win many races with it, but for me it was always a solid and dependable motor.

sorry I guess in comparison to whats out there now. To top it off that truck is out of bumper and close to or if not out of power train warranty. For an extra 4-5 grand a new truck with warranty makes sense.

X2.. I had 2 5.4's(03,07) and never had a lick of problems out of them.. But i couldnt go back to one after driving the new trucks with the new engines.
