I definitely think you could do better than that. You should be able to get 10K off a 5.0 XLT without even really trying. Incentives are right near 6k right now

We just picked up a 2013 Platinum, 5.0, 3.55 E-locker, Moonroof, spray in bed liner, yada, yada.

Sticker was $50,570, we paid 39,700.

I would also do the Ford financing to get another $1K off... you can refinance immediately with someone else for a better rate... don't believe the dealer when they tell you you have to keep it with Ford credit for ANY length of time.

The dealer is the one that looses out if you do not keep it financed, there is no restriction for you, just smile and say you would like to finance with Ford and leave it at that

Good luck, keep us posted.

B- you saying not to mention this to the dealer at all?. is there a window where you have to find new financing or any other restrictions? Wonder if my bank would have issues with this..

If you do not make at least 3 payments the dealer gets hit for the financing credit. The buyer has no requirement and no penalty. The bank should not care whether they issue the check to the dealer or Ford Motor Credit.

No, no obligation at all. But, if you don't the dealer takes a hit. That is why dealers tell you that you must make at least 3 payments. They usually don't tell you the whole story though.

No, your bank will not care. I have bought two f150's and have gotten this incentive just to immediately refi through my own bank(USAA). Plus, the ford credit rates are usually pretty absurd-at least for me. I think the last rate I "got" through for was like 10%, when my bank had me at 3.5. No idea why they are so high.....

The dealer won't be hit for the $1k Ford Credit rebate, but the dealer may lose an extra bonus spiff check from Ford. Don't worry about the dealer's spiff check or whatever they get or don't get. Do whatever is best for you.

This is what I was told and then did. My financing agreement states clearly: "Prepayment. If you pay off all your debt early, you will not have to pay a penalty."

Amount financed was $13k. APR 6.04%, paid 92% the first month, then 4, then the final 4. Interest clock starts immediately after purchase. Total finance charges: $103. Total saved with the FMCC discount/rebate: $897.

Could have saved that $103 by writing a check the next day.

Does the dealer have your contact info? They may go lower. Let it simmer.

I just did a quick search. There may be better dealers, but here's another dealer in your area that has a few XLT 4x4's in the 30k range. Prices are listed on the website so they may go lower, too.

My new dealer of choice told me up front that I can re-fi the next morning and they can't believe other dealers hose people like that. Ford had me at like 5.49 for 72 months, so that's what I did and I re-financed at 1.99 with my credit union.

Last two dealers told me three months.... it is actually in the paperwork if you read it that you can re-finance immediately.
