My red '13 FX2 - Loooooooove it (pics)

upgraded from a 2010 4.6, to this beauty. '13 5.0. Had the dealership swap the BFG's (32.6 inches 265/70 18), planning on an exhaust and shackle drop the rear!

Not trying to be a ****, but what is the point of putting an a/t tire on a 2wd truck you intend to drop? I just don't get it....

IDK but a 2" drop shackle on a huge '13 won't make a big difference. I hardly call that a drop. Most people wouldn't notice a 2" shackle versus doing a 2" spacer up front.

Why not, if he liked the tires. Plus, may have already had them. Keep in mind that lots of folks, at least around here, take their 2 wheel drives a lot of places some think they have to have a 4 wheel drive. I drive my 2 wheel all over the farm and there is some pretty rugged terrain. Where I decide not to take it, I get out the Kawasaki Mule. Just no need for 4 wheel drive but the more substantial tires can be of benefit.

wouldn't it be cool if once you lowered a truck all roads were suddenly dry, flat pavement.

Thanks all,
#1 Already had the tires on my 2010 FX2, which had a front end lift (2") (on the fence about the lift vs. the drop)
#2 I think Ford needs to drop the tiny stock tires…if Chevy can put larger tires, that fill the wheel well, why can't Ford?
#3 The stock Michelins for me were crap, at 37K they were very slippery in the wet….and since it rarely rains here in San Antonio the roads are extra slick-all the oil and rubber etc on the surface. Didn't want to go through that again.
#4 Hoping to get a residency up north (applying to med school this cycle(!)) in a few years and good A/T tires will help.
#5 Plush, plush, plush…these tires are amazing on backroads or freeways-60+ y/o parents appreciate the ride (live a few houses down- i do most of the driving for them)
#6 Just plain ol' like the look.

Forgot this one came with 3.55's and a locking rear- will help when going to the hunting grounds here in Texas.

Like I said, I really wasn't trying to be critical-I was genuinely curious to what the mindset was when swapping them over. Obviously the OP has several good reasons for him, and that is fine. I will agree that I have a very hard time with the undersized tires on the 2wd trucks.
