Is this a good deal? 2010 F150 XLT/XTR,100K kms
I was looking for a pick up truck these days. I have never been a truck owner so kind of blind when choosing. I narrow my selection to just F150 seriers.
Now here comes to this car. It is red, XLT with XTR package, supercrew model car. I didn't test drive it yet but from the photo dealer posted it is really beautiful. It asks for $23,788. Also its warranty expired so I have to buy some new extended warranty. That may cost around $2000.
I lived in a small city in middle of Canada, the price here is normally expensive than large cities.
One thing worried me most is that it has over 100K kms in just two and half years.
Can any one could kindly give me some suggestions?
Thank you!

May be I should take a vacation to Texas and drive back a truck? LOL

100,000 km is about 62,000 miles and $23,788 Canadian is about $22,600 US. Mileage is a little above average. If the truck was cared for and not abused this could work. What does a new truck with the same package go for in your neck of the woods? Which engine does it come with?

You didn't say if it was 4wd. On the Ford of Canada site a 2013 XLT with XTR package is $29,400. and the warranty is included. They may come down more from that price if there are incentives.
The 2010 will be almost 4 years old, have the crappy 5.4, will be missing a lot of features found on the newer improved models, and it will have a bunch of miles on it. Think about spending a little more on a new one with the 5.0.

Here an additional incentive is financing. Financing a new vehicle typically comes with lower interest and more choices for terms. So, it might even be cheaper in the long run to go for the new one. Plus you get to choose just the options you want.

WAY too expensive IMO! My loaded but used 2010 FX4 5.4 w/ 8,000 miles only cost me $27,000 two+ YEARS ago! (April 2011) Also still had a year of factory warranty left. I'd say that the one you're looking at is only worth about $18,000. OR LESS since it's milage is excessive.
Just reread the messages. 100,000km ~= 66,000 miles. That's five and half years worth of milage by NADA standards (12k miles/yr). I'd say it's only worth $14k to $15k even IF it's in good shape and being from the snow belt, I doubt that it is!
Keep looking!!
