Spare tire disappointment

I have the Lariat with the 20 inch chrome wheels. I picked up a nail the other day and found my spare tire is not only not the same wheel, but it is an 18 inch spare. WTF?

Looked under all the trucks at the dealer and none had the same wheel/tire as the truck. Come on Ford.

Lower your expectations. New trucks from Ford, GM, Dodge, or Toyota have not had a matching spare tire or wheel in ten years.

Its cost thing, but honestly having a matching spare does nothing for 90% of people on the road. Hell most people don't even keep them properly inflated.....

The only Land Rover product in the last 8 years that all got matching full sized spares is the Range Rover. With that being said starting with the 2012s they've dropped all of them down to donut spare tires unless its a special edition car.

Spares are a TEMPORARY fix. I can't believe you were actually expecting a chrome 20 under the bed...........

Most vehicles I've ever seen haven't had a matching spare. Usually the only way you'll get one is if you buy something high end or if you put it under there yourself..

It could be worse. My nephews SRT8 Grand Cherokee doesn't have a spare. It comes with Goodyear Runflats which cost $500 each.

What vehicle did you own prior to this one that had a full size matching spare?

And what year was it?

While the spare is a different rim size, it is still a full size spare. Diameter will be the same.
As stated the spare is a temp fix. The spare does not have a TPMS sensor, so until the original tire is fixed, you will have a sensor fault.

I'm surprised it fits. Does it have a tire on it?

Many vehicles aren't even coming with a temporary spare anymore. They come with a can of fix-a-flat or something similar. The Cadillac SRX and the 2014 Acura MDX base model are two examples of no spare tire!

Yeah I know what your talking about.. Just the OP was lamenting about not have a full size (20" chrome wheel) matching spare, same as on his truck. That's what I meant.
