I'll be towing in a couple weeks. We're taking our fifth wheel on a 250 mile round trip. I won't be going anywhere near 85 MPH, and I definitely won't be getting anywhere near 14 MPG either!

Polaris Sportsman 850cc 4x4 with big wheels and tires, 5,000lb front winch and rear winch, front and rear aftermarket bumpers, add a seat.. Stock it weighs 850lbs after the accessories i bet its really close to the 1200 lb mark.

well dry weight on these range from 773-798Lbs depending on if its a 2 up.. I know accs. add a lot of weight but even my Rzr fully modded only weighs about 1400lbs... But regardless looks like you are getting some great fuel mileage!!

not gonna argue as i dont know the actual weight.. but it has to be atleast 1000lbs (thought i read the sportsman 850 weighed 850lbs, those aftermarket wheels and tires arent light, plus 2 winches) Went and picked it up for a friend, this will probaly be the biggest machine that will be on the trailer.. All the other times would be my sportsman 500 and a few honda 500's

In Cali we have 70mph limits, but towing anything is 55mph max. Remember, these are just signs. Most big rigs go 65mph and CHP doesn't seem to mind.

Ain't that the truth. Best part is the state of California just raised the tax on gasoline 3 cents/gallon. Only because cars are getting better MPG and they were losing money on their gas tax. They have a clause saying if they don't make enough money on gas taxes they can raise the tax to meet the money they think they need.... awesome

It's not unusual to get passed by semis in TX.... even when your going 75mph or 80mph on interstates.

Tell that to the drivers on I-64 that cannot drive under 75mph. Only old people and women on cell phones drive slower.

I ride at the South Pool of Twin Buttes here in San Angelo.. Its all public land with thousands and thousands of acres.. Best part of it is our property is right across the road, so all i have to do is ride across the highway and take off. Just got done taking a small ride, put a quick 30 miles on my Sportsman that i bought a few weeks ago, Its a 09 with 70 miles on it when i bought. Just rolled over 100 miles on the ride this morning

Went to pick up a ATV, going to San Antonio i had a real good tail wind and cruising at 85 down interstate 10 with my 5x10 trailer and didnt even know it was behind me. Got there and filled up and got a impressive 17.8 mpg's

So coming back i had a Full Size 1200lb ATV on the trailer, with a 300lb toolbox, Heavy duty Rampgate on the trailer with a 30 mph headwind the whole way back.. I set the cruise back on 80 to 85 and was very impressed at the torque when pulling up 7 to 9 percent grades.. There was probaly 30 cars and trucks that would hit the hills and lose 10 or 15mph, the truck only down shifted 2 times into 5th while climbing the 9 percent grade and never dropped down on the speed, i basically just left everyone when climbing the hills. When i pulled up to the house the computer was reading 14.2 mpg..

I know i didnt have a "heavy" load but with the crazy head wind all 250 miles cruising at the speeds i was with the trailer i thought the truck did a really good job.

The truck Rolled over 8,000 miles today.. Bought it April 22nd of this year , Can yal tell i like to drive it?
