Any Ecobeast owners running the AFE Scorcher Module?
Been on a f150 ecoboost only forum and this is getting some real good reviews and for the price of 250.00 i am really thinking about it. Just seeing if by chance anyone here is running one? They Claim 47hp and 57lb feet of torque while adding 2 more lbs of boost.. It plugs in under the hood with a few quick connectors and has nothing to do with reprograming the pcm. Here is the link if anyone is interested

From their website today:
First off, last time I checked, $261.45 is NOT less than $250....
Furthermore, this would make me nervous. It looks like there is no way to see what is happening - no gauges, no adjustability. All it does is to "trick" the computer into cranking up the boost by hacking the signal from the existing sensors.
This means your computer does not know what is really happening.
From what I understand, other tuners actually change the setpoints that the computer targets. The computer knows what it is doing, it is just being asked to do something else.
Tricking the computer seems like a dangerous way to modify the behavior of the engine. My main concern would be that you may not know what all the computer does with that signal. Modern vehicles use fewer sensors and calculate things like temperatures and pressures based on other data. So by tricking the computer you might be throwing off other calculations and could damage the engine or trans.
Have they tested this in all conditions??? Hot, cold, high altitude? Towing 10K pounds? My guess is no, they have not.
If you are buying this to play around with once in awhile, go for it.
I would not plan on buying this to run 100% of the time...
Just my 2 cents.
It would be interesting to see what DiabloMike or some of the other experts have to say about this thing.

Tuning a turbo charged gas vehicle and making power is a heck of a lot trickier than tuning a diesel and making power. You better put a pyrometer at the very least on the truck before plugging that thing into your brand new truck and run the risk of a full engine melt down from running it way to hot.
