My new fifth wheel

So I picked up my 2014 Wildcat 282rkx today. Truck pulls very well and is worlds better than previous bumper pulls I have towed.

Per the manufacturers specs she weighs 7980 dry and 1280 hitch. Gonna take her to the scales today to get exact numbers, but judging by the amount of sag on the rear I'd say the 1280 is pretty accurate.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with the sag as I was anticipating needing airbags to level it out.
We'll see what the actual numbers are once I hit the scales today.

What's the payload rating on your truck? Be interesting to see if you are over or under that limit.

My F350 and 5er come in at just over 19,000# maybe closer to 20,000# with a max GCVW of 23,000 just for comparisons sake.

You do realize that trailer is going to weigh somewhere around 10,000# loaded and ready to go right? You also realize the GCVW is going to be at 16,000# or heavier as well? And your pin weight is going to be close to 2,500.

I was going off a 25% pin weight and they are figuring it to be 16% so at 10,000 he is going to be at 1,600# not including the weight of the hitch or miscellaneous stuff that's in the bed.

Just weighed the truck and trailer, full tank of gas and the trailer is mostly stocked up minus some sheets and clothes. She weighed in at 15,620lbs my GCWR is 17100. Most of the weight is in the rear due to the rear kitchen layout. Truck weighs in at 6228lbs, trailer is at 9392lbs +/- 100lbs. This was also with third tank of fresh water which is around 120lbs of weight. Dry hitch weight is 1280lbs, my payload as equipped is 1555lbs. So I am very close to payload per the tire/loading label, however my front GAWR is 3950, and rear GAWR is 4000 so there is some wiggle room in there. I may be slightly over the payload ratings either way it is very minimal and I am well under my GCWR even with the trailer loaded up.
Using dry calculations 7980 dry with 1280 hitch = 16%
Using 16% @ 9392lbs = 1502lbs.... this is assuming all of that extra weight is on the hitch. Even if all the weight was on the hitch 1502lbs is still not bad. They have really done well engineering these trailers to be as light as they are.
As it sits currently there is around 1400lbs of loaded weight, and I don't see us loading another 1000-1400lbs of weight since the trailer is essentially loaded and stocked with the exception of clothes.

They have done a good job lightening them up my 89 King of The Road is 28ft and loaded ready to go is 11,000#. Every bit of weight you put in the trailer is going to transfer to the hitch because I can tell when all the tanks are dry and when they are wet from ride height. It's also a bit of hand full to tow especially down hills when all four tanks are full which is rare for me to tow it like that but just be aware it will happen at some point.
