I am considering trading my 2012 FX4 for a 2013 FX2 with the 5.0, probably with 3:55s. Can you guys tell me what kind of mpgs you are seeing with a similar setup or if I will see much of a difference if I do switch ? I am averaging 16mpgs now.

 

Hey Triton, I have an '11 FX2 with the 5.0 and 3.55's and I see anywhere from 16 - 19 around town depending on how I drive and usually 20 - 21 on the hay around 70. My commute is mainly 60/40 highway.

I went down to Port Aransas, TX a couple of weeks ago and fought a headwind of about 20MPH or so and got just under 19MPG. Speeds were around 70 - 75.

 

Are you going to switch ONLY for a difference in MPG? I hope that's not the case, that would make zero sense financially. What are the other reasons for wanting to swap trucks?
