Grinding in front end when back tires are "slipping"?

There's a sound coming from my FRONT end when my REAR tires are spinning and slipping (on mud, gravel, ice). It sounds like crap. Sounds like the sound when you get on the breaks and slide. As far as I know its the same thing making the sound and it's supposed to be making this stupid noise..? (I just went from an 06' to a new 13') If it is some kind of "slip" gear then why is my front end making the sound when my rear is the one slipping?
I can't find anything in the manual about it and I did a search here but couldn't find a match. Any help?

The traction and stability control system works with the ABS.

YES. As noted previously ... WAD - Working As Designed

You could always disable it. *.owner's manual

No Sir, does it in 2wheel drive and 4wheel.

I got it to turn off. Then it comes back on after I restart my truck. Wish there was a way to do it permanently. Oh well

if theres not there will be soon i bet. when i owned my bmw, you had to go through certain steps with different buttons to turn off trac and stab control. eventually someone came out with a brain that would remember what setting you left it in when the car was shut off and it would be that way when you fired it up
