I would highly advise against using that stuff on such a nice truck.

$150 seems pretty darn good to me, I was expecting much more.

Plastidip is stuff that young people use and it's "cheap." So I'm sure his argument is the same one I had with the taillight smoking. BUT, when done properly, it's very hard to tell the difference between that and matte black vinyl AND it's reversible. So there's no reason why you shouldn't or can't. There are just a lot of people that don't like the product because anything that's inexpensive automatically looks bad. If it were permanent, I'd advise against it because you might now like it. But it's not, so it doesn't matter

I guess I can see that. Yeah, when sprayed/done properly. The product is smooth and very hard to tell that its PD. My buddies first attempt at his truck wasn't great and the texture was a little rough. After getting the hang of it he re sprayed it and now its smooth.

Exactly what I thought. But it's his truck, so if he likes it, he likes it. I think it's fine, but he did ask for opinions. Even when I don't agree with what someone is planning on doing, I'll support it if that's what they want

That's a terrible thing to do. What if it is something they might regret?

I plasti-dipped my emblems and as much as it looks ok it's all I'd ever dip except maybe my winter wheels.

If I had a Harley truck I wouldn't touch anything on it.. Heck I even like the stripes.. I think only a Harley guy would understand them and it doesn't seem like there are any here..

No no no haha. I mean that I'm ok with what the owner decide to do with THEIR truck after my and other opinions have been shared and the owner has been made fully aware of the possible and inherent consequences of the modification. Once they know how others perceive it and they understand everything, it is their call on whether or not they are going to do it. I won't berate them over a choice they've made. I like for people to do as they like with their own vehicles. But yes, if someone wanted to pour sand down their dipstick tube, I would NOT be ok with that! But I doubt anyone considers that a mod haha.

Man got some mixed opinions here but I guess ultimately the decision comes down to be. Good thing I can peel it off if i don't like it. When I first bought the truck I didnt plan on doing much or changing anything at all but I figured I'd see what it look like with some parts of the truck PD'd and see how it looked and make it stand out that much more. Will snap some pics once the truck is finished.

I was able to check that Tundra on Wednesday ause the guy came back in (might've traded it in), and the entire thing was PD'd. You can't really tell the difference between that and matte black paint or vinyl

Just a couple of update pics. Only had a chance to do the grill, tailgate panel and smoke the taillights a little. This weekend will be the wheels, decal removal and put on the 6.2L badge that are on the raptors. Then will be ordering the peragon bed cover and later down the road OEM projectors or retrofit and possibly lowering the back to level it out. Also about to have my buddy order a can of matte clean and gonne do the emblems so they are not as bright against the matte grill and panel.
