SCREW with 6 1/2' bed and max tow fuel economy?

I had a 2011 F150 XLT SCAB 4x4 with max tow and got 20mpg on the highway @ 60 mph. My new 2013 King Ranch SCREW 4x4 with the 6 1/2' bed and max tow only gets 18.5mpg @ 60mph.

My SCAB had a shipping weight of 5404 lbs
Shipping weight on the 2013 was 5577 lbs
Both are 7700 lbs GVWR
The 2011 had a payload capacity of 2080 lbs
The 2013 has a payload capacity of 1489 lbs.
Based on these numbers I would assume that the new truck weighs 591 lbs more, however the shipping weight doesn't show this. Assuming that it does is this enough to cost me 1.5 mpg?
BTW the 2011 had Goodyear Wrangler 18" AT's, the 2013 has 20 Scorpions.

I am curious what kind of fuel economy others are getting that have a fully loaded SCREW with the 6.5' bed and max tow.

Thanks

IMO 600 pounds is a big difference. That could easily shed 1 mpg off in your new truck. Also i have been hearing that the mileage really increases over time. I'm still waiting for mine to increase- i'm getting only 16.5 mpg with 4k miles on my truck. I would love to get your 18.5 mpg that's what i would expect out of these engines.

How many miles do you have on the new truck?? I have the 6.5' bed with max tow and 1700lbs payload. I'm around the same, 18-19mpg highway and 14.5-15.5mpg city.

Same results here with 8300 miles.

It's the tires. Less sidewall, less payload. It's that simple. BTW if the 13 had the 5.5 bed it would probably be within 20 lbs of the 11's shipping weight. That 170 lb increase is from the 12" longer cab.

I also believe Texas gas is not the greatest. One of these road trips im going to find a station with no ethanol to see how much of a difference it will make.

It really depends on the speed your driving. Going 75mph youll be lucky to see 15-16mpg, now drop it down to 65 or 60mph and youll see high 18's and 19's. That's assuming no wind. Towing my fifth wheel which is 9300lbs, I'm seeing 9 mpg avg.

I see that my 18" Goodyear Wranglers weighed 49 lbs each while the 20" Scorpions weigh 43.7 lbs each.
Anybody know what the 18" and 20" rims weigh?

My mileage varies, but I usually get 22 - 26 mpg if I stay at 60 MPH. However, I'm more setup for mileage: 2012 Lariat SCREW Ecoboost 5.5' 4x4 3.31 gears and 18" wheels. Anything over 65, and my mileage drops to about 18.5 mpg
