Question IPEX Head Lights

Hello everyone. I have been searching for some new headlights recently. I ran across these IPEX headlights which basically look stock with black trim and clear reflectors. I have a couple questions on them.

1) Are they junk lights or just modified oem lights?

2) Do you think the Harley head lights or these would look better on a race red F150?

Thanks for the help everyone!

Here is a link to the lights:

I am also considering these if anyone has an opinion on quality and looks.

I wouldn't go with anything with a smoked lens. Too permanent, and it'll only limit yer light output.

The first set would make a good set for a retrofit project. They'll be sealed with a silicone material that makes it easy to separate the lens from the housing. I'd definitely recommend doing a retrofit. So many benefits there: Amazing light output, they look great, and the final look is only limited by your imagination.

If you choose to keep them as they are, I'd still recommend cracking them open and revealing with a quality butyl product. The Chinese aftermarket headlights almost always let moisture in.

x100 . . . . . . . . . I love when a TRUE 2 color scheme is done. That whole truck looks awesome. I always thought your headlights had a smoked lens though, D?

I agree with what Dewser said though. The first set look good and I'd get those out of the two and seal them up with silicon. Both sets would fall under the "junk" category vs "OEM modified," but I have the same set essentially, just in 04-08 version. They don't fit perfectly, but for what I paid, I'm more than happy. I'd strongly consider opening your stock ones up and just painting them black and/ore doing a retrofit. The only reason I didn't paint my stock ones was that they had a little crazing and I wanted new ones.

KMAC, no smoked lens here. The buckets are painted flat black, and the bezels are gloss black.

Thanks for the heads up. I will consider retrofitting them even though I never have done that sort of work.

The mini H1 kit is a great kit for the first time retrofitter. No modification to the bucket necessary and minimal modification to the shroud. Plus, the light output is far superior to most OEM applications.

You could always have a member on here do the retrofit for you, too.

I looked at some of the pics in your albums and I can tell they aren't now, Brew. I guess it's just how dark they are!
