Wow. I get better millage than that with my 5.4L. I'll take the 6.2L because what is a few mpg's anyway? I'll take the durability and added horsepower. I hope they don't phase out the 6.2L for the 2015+ models, because I'm going to hold onto my truck for awhile.

I don't think the odds of finding the 6.2 in the 2015 are very good. They are even talking about dropping it out of the Super Duty.

They're mildly tinkering with one for the Mustang, supposedly.

no, coming from a v6 hater.. If the ecoboost was a v8 then it would be the best in the world.

V6's have their place in the truck world for Mid-size trucks & base model F-150s! The day when I walk into a Ford store & cannot buy a V8 in a full size truck is the day I walk across the street & buy a 5.7 or 6.4 HEMI or a 6.2from the competition! I do not buy a full size truck because I'm concerned about fuel economy. I buy a truck for what it can do for me when I need its capabilities for what it was was designed for.

And the EB V6 was designed to tow or haul when you want it to, get good fuel economy when you want it to, and blow the doors off many V8's when you want it to.

Which of those doesn't fit what you need a truck to do? The EB V6 is a great all-around engine for the F150, and if you refuse to open your eyes and see that, it's your loss.

If Ford got rid of their V8(s), the competition likely would as well

Ahh, the old "if it ain't got 8 cylinders, it can't do work" argument comes around once again. If this is even close to true how do you explain why the most common engine layout in over the road trucks is a 6 cylinder with a turbo?

Let the stammering begin...

Bu...bu...bu...but...uh...it...uh....doesn't sound good. Yeah, that's it!

oh wait, and it has turbos...

but, uh, if it is a V8 and has turbos, then it's good.

uh...bu...uh...my dad can beat up your dad!

What capabilities do you need?

The ecoboost beats the 5.0 and 5.4 in all categories and comes close to the 6.2.

Its about having a choice. The last time I checked that is what this country is all about. I want a normal aspirated V8 that makes great power & lasts a very long long time & yes sounds great! I'll admit I came from a generation that grew up on V8s. I was driving a Big Block Chevelle 396 in High School. If Ford ceases to offer a V8 in its 1/2 ton lineup. I walk away to who does. That's the beauty of this country!

Just to let you know GMs new premium 6.2 V8 offered in the GMC Sierra & Chevy 1 /2 ton makes 450 ft lbs torque & well over 400HP. It will crush the Eco-Boost in any category! If Ford does not offer the consumer this type of option people will walk away!
