I have a 2012 EB with 10k on it, no issues yet, average 17mpg, and I also have a livernois 91 performance tune.

2013 Platinum short box, 3.73. two weeks away from being 1 year old, 24,500 miles on her so far.

- rear ended 7k miles on odo, waiting for an accident clean up on 2 lane, hit by a guy I passed in 4 inchses of slush because he was almost stuck on roadway. he was about a mile back when I stopped. I made a phone call with hazards on sitting there waiting for cops to let us through. BAM. hit me going at least 30. his caddy was totaled. my truck had 3K in damage. tailgate and bed were fine. hitch and bumper took hit.

front rotors turned, rear pinion bearings replaced two weeks ago.. speaker in drivers door replaced because it would stop working now and then- most have said its a wiring issue. we shall see so far so good

I have EDGE CTS with level 3 tune running 93OCT.
I had it set at level 1 tune for 13K miles. drive it nice. and avg 18.5 usually just going 60.

replaced rear shocks with bilstien 5100s two days ago. replacing front shocks set at full height adj this sat.

getting 285.60.20 Goodyear Duratracs installed next Tuesday.

by by mileage.

2012, 48,100 miles on it. Was driving it for work but just picked up a Fusion so the miles are stopping on the truck.

One warranty visit for clunk in driveshaft, ended up being carrier seal replacement per a TSB.

Still original SR-A tires with 60% tread left on them, no other issues.

I wanna see an Eco-Boost with 200K real world mileage with no engine/turbo work! Then I'll be a believer!

We had a couple 2011's eco's at work that we just traded in that had over 100k. Nothing major done just regular maintenance, replaced an 02 sensor and a MAF I believe on one awhile back. Only time will tell on the reliability. But now there going into the 2014's and our dealer can not keep the eco's on the lot, its hard for them to move the 5.0's. Everyone is willing to pay an extra $1k to upgrade to the eco.

The 5.0 is just the next step of evolution in the already tried & true Modular V-8 platform! Nothing really new there but progress!

The EB is just the next step of evolution in the already tried & true Duratec V-6 platform! Nothing really new there but progress!

The new 5.0 has about the same resemblance to the 4.6/5.4 as the EB has to the 3.0 Duratec that was first used in the Taurus in 1996.

FYI - it too, has cam phasers.

Just wait until the roll pins start breaking on those.

And the chain guides.

And the chain tensioners.

And the oil screens.

Negative! Anytime you introduce a Twin Turbo on a miniscule V6 motor, throw in direct injection & ask it to move a heavy vehicle on a day to day basis yet alone tow upwards of 10K with it its a game changer! Its not a normal aspirated running motor like the 5.0! Show me one that has worked for 200K miles with no engine work & maybe I'll think about getting one! Til them I'll stick with what I know will last!

2013 Lariat 4x4 supercrew ecoboost. 2200 miles, average 9.8 mpg. This is empty to pulling an empty 16 foot flatbed trailer about 600 of those miles.don't drive it much can't afford to. If I bought it at wallmart I would take it back tomorrow for a full refund. To answer your question.YES I HAVE A %$#*&%%$$# PROBLEM WITH IT. MY ADVICE DON'T BUY ONE.

https://www.f150online.com/forums/5032871-post9.html

Ive been around tire testing all my life where they use truck's to run 60 to 80,000 miles testing these tires. They are drove 800 miles a day (400 miles during the day then 400 miles during the night) 5 days a week it doesnt take long to get alot of miles on the vehicles. Every 5.0 that the company has had has burned oil from new.. How much oil? Thats hard to say cause all the trucks are different.. Most are around a quart every 5,000 miles and some are as much as 2 quarts every 5000 miles. They all have over 250,000 miles on em and other than one truck they are still going.. A few transmissions along the way but thats to be expected with atleast 250,000 miles on all of them

Same way with the ecoboosts they had a turbo go out on one and a few trannys other than that they were fine. No problems at all with the intercooler and some of these 11 ecoboosts have close to 350k on them.
Eh? Negative my @$$.

Your already bitching about it and its not even broke in yet.. You have a 4x4 truck dont expect to get great mileage out of it! Why dont you wait till atleast 5 to 10k miles before complaining about the mileage?

Also it depends how it is being drove, if you are getting into boost every time you hit the throttle your mileage is going to be crap.

I can drive the hell out of my truck pulling a small 5x10 trailer and it will drop down to 13mpgs. Drive it normally and it'll pull 17mpg easily.. Running empty if i drive it hard ill get around 15 and normal driving is 18 to 20 mpg.
