Would you buy an amber gold f150 for 6k less than a normal color?
There is an amber gold f150 screw xlt 4wd for sale in my town.
Other than the color and high mileage (124,000), its about 6-7 grand less than it should be.
Not sure if this is against the rules (I'm not selling it) but its msrp is around 20 and I've got them down to 13.5
Do it? Paint it? or wait till 2015 and buy new. Looking for some advice from people who like the truck. My brother has a 2009 FX4 screw and thought it was a good deal other than the color. Though he also warned me he only gets 11mpg.
Thanks

This is actually a cool discussion. It would be interesting if Ford knows the statistical 'value' of each paint color.
All things equal, in my mind paint color is only worth about $1500. If a dealer showed me two identical trucks, one in my desired color, and one in any other color, and offered to hand me $1500 in cash if I chose the other color, the deal would be done. But I'm not that materialistic, I prefer functionality over looks.

Here's the truck. 4x4, 5.5 ft bed, 5.4l v8. Drove really nice during my test drive.
I suppose the real kicker, beyond the color, is that it is tan interior rather than grey. I really can't think of an uglier truck. I was thinking of taking it to Maaco and geting it painted white and I looked into wrapping the car. Never heard of plastic dipping so I'll check that out.

Am I crazy for actually liking that color? I say buy it if it's what you want, otherwise wait for the 2015s because the used F150s are all stupid expensive right now.
It's called Plastidip and it can be a solution, but it peels quite easily. Can't beat the price though and it does come right off when applied properly.
