2009 - 2014 F-150

No servicable fuel filter???

No servicable fuel filter???

Changed the plugs, oil and filter, and air filter. Napa sold me a fuel filter (looks identical to the one my 94 f250 uses), but apparently my '09 150 has one in the tank I can't service. Really?????

You can change it when your fuel pump takes a dump.

You should be fine short of the contents of the fuel tank becoming quicksand.


If the choice is between old style setup and the possibility of getting garbage all the way up the lines to the filter versus a sock in the tank blocking things off, I'll take the chance on the in-tank filter doing the job.

More indications Ford is doing their best to beat GM and Chrysler in the race to the bottom...

not true.....gm removed the fuel filter in the gas trucks and rely on a sock on the fuel pump pick up tube in 2006-2007 depending on the model....so they beat Ford by a couple of years on that one....

Ford probably figured since the other 90% of f150 owners never change the filter anyway, why not just eliminate it. I know every one here does but what about the rest who never go on a forum.

I have no idea if my fuel filter has even ever been touched . . . Should probably change it with 89k on it potentially

every 20k-30k....imo

depending on where you buy yer gas from....

Under the Engineering test menu there is a page that shows the % used on the in tank filter. My truck at 55,000 shows to have used 33% of the filter life. So based on that once every 150,000 miles or so I will need to unbolt the bed or drop the tank to change the filter.
