I came home the other day with a 2013 f150 supercab stx 5.0 (not as nice as my 05 fx4 but the 5.0 runs good)

also over the summer, I talked my dad into buying a new f150 (he had a 02 ranger) 13 f150 stx 5.0

Only reason I bought a 5.0 is because my buddy bought a 2012 fx4 5.0 and my dad bought his with a 5.0 (I drove both and liked the power over my old 5.4) My cousin had a 5.0 xlt but (traded it in) on a ecoboost and loves it (says it has more power than his 5.0 had). I'm not against the eco but wanted the v8.

I already got the bug and started buying parts for my new truck, didn't like the jump seat, so bought a center console (also bought my dad one) will be here in the next couple days. Anybody looking for a jump seat let me know (will have two for sale) I got a sweat deal on the center consoles link here

Future plans, leveling kit (not sure which kit to go with) maybe a AS leveling kit (had one on the 05 fx4) tint all the windows, install the black rims and tires I had on the 05 fx4 (only run these in the summer), purchase a bed cover, maybe smoke the headlights and taillights, either straight pipe the truck (buddy did this to his and sounds badass) or go with a borla muffler without resonator. Will update this thread in the future with updates I did to the truck.

Sorry for the long thread lol

Just as a reminder, you will have to purchase the TPMS sensors for the 05 wheels.

Thanks, yea I was talking to my bud about it. From what I was told the light will come on in the dash. I'm not sure they will even fit without a leveling kit.

Thanks, yes you can't beat the price but there are a lot of features that the fx4 has that these trucks don't have. I kicked around the idea of buying a fx4 but for the price I would have bought a gas f250. I don't need leather seats and all the other fancy electronic stuff. I do wish my truck had a sliding rear window but for $250 I can buy one and install it. One big feature I really miss from the old truck is the floor shifter.

I ordered two center consoles and the link is on the first page. If you want to buy a middle jump seat let me know I have two just sitting in the garage.

Yea I agree but I chose to buy the STX and make it my own.

Added FX4 flow through console - 500
Added Clazzio Leather - 450

so for under 1000 my interior was drastically improved similar to a truck that costs alotttt more. I also build retrofit headlights as a side business so that brought the truck up too.

In the end i got a lot more for my money and more personal/unique.

Definitely not a thing wrong with that, makes your truck different and you take more pride in it. I'm slowly adding stuff to my stx, just the weather isn't very warm right now. Got any pics of your truck?

Well been cold out past week here and I sure did miss the remote start. Today I ordered a remote start (BC3Z-19G364-A) couldn't beat the price $190 shipped. I called around and found a dealer to activate it for $50 bucks. I also ordered a tailgate protector (have a bed mat) $35 shipped. I started on a project today. I don't know why ford didn't extend the front wheel liners on these truck but there is a nice size gap to the engine bay. I mocked up some gap guards to keep mud and stuff from getting on the motor. Here is a picture of the passenger side.

Tomorrow going to go buy plastic retaining clips and drill some holes to mount them. Hopefully they work. Let me know what you think of the idea.

Next on the list:
FX4 heads and tail lights
resonator delete pipe (9L3Z-5A212-C)
Tint windows
2inch or 2.5 AS leveling kit
Plasti dip the chrome running boards
extang trifecta cover

Well finally got to put AS 2 leveling kit on (damn winter). I had experience doing this before (my 05 f150 was easier) but damn was it a chore getting the strut and spacer back in on this truck.

Front sits 1/2 inch higher but truck only has 3,000 miles on it. I'm going to wait before adding a block.

Couldnt wait had to dig out the wheels and tires

Tires stick out farther on this truck. After driving around today, sides were covered in dirt/ashes. I might buy fender flares.

Next is tint in 2 weeks already got appointment scheduled. I'm thinking 15% all rear windows and 20% front two windows. I got a few other things to go on the truck but needs to warm up. Painting all the badges black and I have overlays (white). I got camo ford overlays for the ford emblems. If the ford emblems turn out crap going to order a set of painted ones from the member on here. Chrome running boards and factory rims are getting plasti dipped. I need some more $ but going to buy fx4 heads and tails (have to wait ). Thanks for looking, any other suggestions?

Well its been a while since I've been on here. I still browsed around the site through my phone, glade this site is still kicking with new and old members. Anyways did a few things over the summer.

I'm not sure if anyone else had this problem but after adding leveling kit the upper control arm would hit the bracket for the brake line and vacuum line. I added some washers to offset it some, problem solved.

Finally got around to installing gap guards for the front.

I tinted windows 20% front and 15% rear.

I painted the ford emblem black and added a decal. I painted all the f150 badges black and added white decals.

I plasti dipped both running boards black. Still holding strong and looking good after several months.
