New Truck (Take 2)
Went up to Jacksonville Saturday, and ended up driving home in a new truck! I know, I know, I just got the 2011 (literally, in December), but I got such a good deal on the '13 I just couldn't pass it up. I had a good amount of equity in my trade, they gave me what I wanted for it, and I got a lower interest rate and shorter financing term from my bank. So, in the long run, the new one is costing me even less than the old one And not only that, it's quite a bit more truck!
It's a 2013 F-150 XLT Supercab Ecoboost 4x4. I traded my 2011 Supercrew 3.7L 4x2. All in all, it's an upgrade in every aspect. The only compromise I made was the backseat. However, in my opinion it's not a downgrade. I'm sure many will disagree with me, but I actually prefer the look of an extended cab truck. I don't have any kids or anything, so I don't really need the full crew cab. My dog never complains about legroom
As an added bonus, I got them to agree to do a direct wheel/tire swap, so I got to transfer my brand new Nitto Terra Grapplers to the new truck I already put the truck to work, too. Hauled my boat across town yesterday. The 3.7 was a solid motor, but this ecoboost is a whole different world. Absolutely thrilled with it. First time I've ever had 4WD too.
Here's a few pics from the weekend:
I honestly thought I'd get a 5.0 the next go around, but this thing is a blast! Time to see what all the hocus pocus is about.

Congrats on the new truck! I'm here to answer any questions if you've got them. Just give me a shout if you need me.

Ah, good point, I almost forgot!
Haha, I know man! It actually ended up being the "haul" that got me looking to upgrade. The 3.7 sure was impressive for a NA V6, but it really didn't like my 5,000 pound boat. And my 2wd with a open diff wasn't too fond of dragging it up slick boat ramps. It did the job, but it this'll do it better
Yessir! Luckily I already have my tires I want since I carried them over from my previous truck (toolbox as well). I do plan to level the nose out, and we'll see what happens from there!
No kidding man. This thing is a blast. Very torquey. I'm looking forward to getting to know it
And thanks Ashley! But let's hope I don't need you

By the way, this truck has both 4x4 and the E-locker. Isn't that a little redundant? The E-locker is a new concept to me. When would I ever need to use this if I have 4x4? Is there a particular situation where one is more applicable than the other? I'm gonna read my manual too, but thought some real world advice would be useful.
