2WD or 4WD? My last two trucks were two-wheel drive, and I ran a 2" level with 285/70R17 tires (translates to roughly a 32" tire). That setup looked pretty sharp. This truck is my first 4x4, so I went with 285/75R17s, which made them true 33" tires (33.5" tall). The extra inch looks better with the added height of the 4x4.
Here's my previous truck with the 285/70/17s:

No problem! With the 4x4, you may be happier with the slightly taller tire. However, with the 1" height difference, the tires do look a bit skinnier than I'd like them to (they are technically the same width as the shorter tires, but they just appear a bit skinnier). If you decide to go with the taller one of the two I have mentioned, see if you can find a 295/75R17. This will give you the added inch in height and give you some more width at the same time. However, I think that's an oddball tire size, so you may be better off sticking with the 285/75R17s I have here:
Either size should give you the look you're after

If you want to have a wider looking tire, get wider wheels. The factory 17" wheels are only 7.5" wide and when you mount wider tires on them the sidewall gets pulled in making the tire appear skinnier than they really are. You should only put a max 275 wide tire on the stock 17" wheels or they don't look right.

I had some 295x70x17 Toyo MT's on my leveled '04 Lariat that were (33.5x12) which is a good size for a leveled 4x4.
