Cooper discoverer at3

anyone have these on their f150? I am planning to replace my factory Goodyear sra tires and these look appealing... People that have them please chime in, does fuel economy suffer from the stock good years??

Use the search function, there's a lot of info on them already here.

Hmmm, not for me.

I ran the Mastercraft Courser AXT and was not happy. They were gone in just over 20k miles! Worst wearing tire I ever ran!

The AXT is a very close cousin of the AT3.

I'd suggest another tire myself. I had bad luck with a set. Very irregular wear pattern that a number of folks had. Looked to have been a run of tires with some issues. But Cooper did nothing. Hope your luck is better.

Wink

I have two sets of the AT3's, and a set of the Discoverer M+S winter tires. The first set of AT3's I put on stock Lariat rims. Love 'em. They have great wet and dry traction, and handle well. When I got my chrome rims, I decided to put a new set of AT3's on the rims. The first set had about 21,000 miles on them when I pulled them and look fabamundo. The current set are at about 28,000 miles now and are wearing evenly. At my last oil change, which was last week, the rear tires were at 8/32 and the fronts were at 9/32. New I believe they are 13/32? I've been using Cooper tires for a lot of years. I love the Cooper Cobras. Had them on my '94 T'bird, and '91 Tracer LTS 5-speed. I've heard of balancing issues with some, but I've never had an issue with any Cooper tire I've ever had.

Have never had a problem with a cooper tire, have heard alot of good stuff about the at3's. I run the Discoverer ATP's from discount tire and they have been great. 24k miles and still at 8/32nd's. That is with ALOT of spirited driving. Plan on getting 60k easily out of them.

I have had cooper at then at3 on a 91 98 and this 06. They were fine in all weather. Just recently put on the KO2 and they are night and day better, not to mention a better look. Granted I won't have them in snow as I have cooper studless on wheels for that. I call them tiger paws. They stick like glue!

Had I known how good the KO2 is I would have switched long ago.

I had 265/70r17 LT C discoverer at3's on my 08. Didn't care for them. They were not as good in snow as my previous Firestone destination at tires and would hum much more on the highway. Ran them for 20k and then went back to firestones. They were all still at 12/32" when I got rid of them (17/32" is new).

I wouldn't buy them again. Just my opinion.

I have them on my 2002 Supercrew. Excellent tire, absolutely no complaints. Of course my 'old' truck tire size is 245-16's. I am running 255/60-16 Coopers, glad I found these

BFG TKO
Nitto Terra grappler
Older Cooper
