Comparing them to a 1995 F150 (20 years) is way overselling them.

I'm comparing to other factory vehicles of this generation truck. 2010-13 RX350 is still one of best factory projectors ever made.

Honestly I haven't priced take off projector headlights in the last year or so, so I believe you if you say they are 600-800 range

I recall somebody who did a lot of retrofit work tore open a set of 2013 HIDs and found the OEM projector could be replaced with a DS2 or DS3 ( might not be accurate term ) projector which improved its output and fit snug and at home in the OEM housings. I would go that route if I can get a 2013 model. If not, i'll have a set of 2011/2012s done up depending on the lens condition.

Speaking of 2013+ & OEM HIDs, was it really more of a package included option? Some of the bare bones FX4s I have found have the standard painted halogens, as seen here.

I was under the assumption that all FX4 pkg trucks came with the HIDs. But I guess the base standard models with cloth and whatnot don't.

There are quite a few firms that do all the dirty work for you too.

As stated before, either the 5.0 or Eco will suit your needs just fine, if you can find a truck with 3.73's, even better.
Interesting. I'll take a look. I expanded my online search to over 500 mile radius and I have been finding a ton of affordable southern trucks. A couple that i'm temped to even call about.

I like this truck for the 6'5 bed, but I do find myself not liking the all black dash panels, and I absolutely hate the body panel decals. The red outline stitching can be overlooked and the red badging can be painted/inlayed, but I don't know.

I love the silver on black theme in my 2007, and I really like that the avg FX4 has retained that theme. So I would say an appearance pkg truck may be out of the question.

I really like this one, and am very temped to make a move. That's the price I want with the mileage I want loaded up how I want. 20"s, sony, MFT/Nav, only thing missing is a 6'5 bed but I can live without it.

The HID's are part of the FX2/4 luxury package on the 13's and 14's. Base FX2/4's get plain old halogens. Lariat and up models got HID's standard, no matter what package it has.

Also, dual 10 way power leather heated and cooled seats, power pedals, DATC, rear camera, My Ford Touch, reverse sensing system were all part of the lux pack

Last off topic post...

Even comparing them to the halogen housing 09-14s with an upgraded bulb, they still can even be placed in the same performance group. We have three 12th gen trucks and it's a literal night and day difference between the two. To say otherwise would be asinine.

The link to the truck you posted says it's sold? Did you bite on it?

Nope, must have sold. The price for the miles and options it had I'm not at all surprised. An easy $37k in my area.

Welp, this might be delayed one more year yet again. Just bought a newer ATV . Polaris Sportsman 850 XP Touring. Winch and 60" snow plow, so no more 1.5hr driveway shoveling for me this winter. So it may affect my buying a newer truck this spring/summer. Not too big of a deal, 2013s will only get cheaper. Blessing in disguise perhaps?
