Heater blowing cold air

I have a 2012 SCREW 4x4 Lariat 5.0 with 68k on the odometer that was working pretty well at the end of spring. I had to replace the windshield wiper switch in June, but today I went out and tried to turn on the heater/heated seats, but neither worked. So I went and checked fluids and fuses without anything being out of the ordinary. The A/C worked just fine and the fan is kicking out air, just no heat. Before I spend money at the dealership/mechanic is there anything I can take a look at myself? Also what manual does everyone use for troubleshooting? Haynes, Chilton's, something else?

No additional information on the heated seats, but after messing with the heater, it is only the driver side and yes I made sure it wasn't the dual climate control being turned down on the driver's side.
