Cool 4.6 2V Spark Plug Change

Just changed the plugs on my truck today. First time that I've done it on this truck. The last time they were done the dealership changed them while I was having warranty work done to replace my leaking intake manifold. I can attest to running a few bottles of Techron thru the gas tank first. These things were really clean for having roughly 50,000 miles on them. Kind of a pita to get to cylinders 4 & 8 but definitely doable. Whole job from start to finish was only about an hour and half.

Good to hear you had a good experience with your plug change. BTW, the 2V engine is not the one with all of the horror stories about plug changes. That would be the 3V engines - and only prior to early 2008 when a design change pretty much solved the original problem. What about earlier 3V engines? Most techs have found ways (and special tools) to make even that job relatively drama free.

Yeah I knew this old girl wasn't a problem child, just a pain to get those back 2! But I was just attesting to how well the techron and better gas overall works on cleaning everything out. I've never pulled plugs that looked that good before.
