What's making this "creaking" noise?

Okay, this is driving me crazy. I have a 2010 FX4 with 60,000 miles, always serviced by dealer and in near showroom condition.

The problem? The entire truck creaks like an old metal spring bed. Seems like it's from the front of the truck to the rear. Anytime while driving slowly all you hear is this "creaking" sound like an old metal spring bed. Absolutely drive's me crazy on an otherwise perfect vehicle.

Had it in for the 60,000 service recently and nothing was found wrong. At first I thought about the shocks but it doesn't sound or feel like any shock absorber problem I've had before.

Has anyone else dealt with a noise problem such as this? None of my other past F150's have ever done this.

Possibly dry u-joints.

X2. The factory u-joints are non serviceable, so if they are dry, you will need a new driveshaft. You can get a stronger aftermarket shaft with serviceable joints for less than what you'll pay at the dealer for a stock replacement

Does it creak as you hit small cracks in pavement at slow speeds? Or any time the vehicle is in motion it's a continously squeak?

Ball joints if it's related to minor minor suspension changes

The dealer did say that the U-Joints are non serviceable and that was a possibility. As for when it makes the "creaking" noise, it's only at very low speeds or driving slowly over bumps and such on the roadway.

It's bad enough that if someone gets into my truck for the first time they ask about the creaking noise. Just doesn't seem fair that after only 60,000 miles and paying Ford Dealership maintenance costs all these years that I should have to replace the driveshaft on my own.

I'm not discounting any of the other options, but I wore out the rear spring isolation pads on one of my previous trucks and the squeaking drove me nuts. I traded the truck not too long after I figured out what the problem was...

I had a similar issue. I replaced both u-joints but kept the same driveshaft.

I'd also say the lower ball joints are making the noise. You might as well replace the uppers when you do the lowers.
