Brake issues!

Hey everyone,

Wondering if anyone can help me solve an issue I am having with my 2011 f-150. My "service advance trac" warning recently came on. Now I am having issues when braking. When I apply pressure to the brake pedal, it feels and sounds like grinding. The brakes don't feel like they are applying properly. After a few seconds the pedal pushes down and brake performance feels the way it should. Any ideas?

you should go to a dealer/mechanic and have them check the codes.

Its hard to say for sure, but it could be a bad wheel speed sensor (WSS). So when you brake it thinks a wheel is locked up, activates ABS on that wheel (what you describe as grinding?) and then eventually realizes the WSS is bad and deactivates ABS control.

Once they read the codes you will know for sure.
