Considering high mileage 2011 6.2 Lariat Limited

Hi guys, great forum here. I've owned lots of Fords, mostly v8 Lincolns, Explorers and Crown Vics. I do a lot of work on my cars.
I found a 6.2 that I fell in love with. There are many Ecos around but I don't trust them used. The 6.2s are commercial engines put in F350s for the most extreme service.
My neighbor is an ex ford tech, he said the only issue could be valve springs, he said we can change them on a Sunday with a few beers, the truck will run forever. I had a DOHC v8 in a Lincoln that broke a valve spring, it is not a big deal to fix (unless the valve drops too far ).
He said in his experience they usually come in over 300K and they drop in a new engine (surprisingly inexpensive, too). He said the bottom ends are usually fine but cheaper to just replace. Occasional valve spring. And these rigs aren't babied either.

It has almost 150K miles. Sparse official maintenance records, from the carfax it likely was a trade and wholesaled to a large used car lot, could be sitting a year. Neighbor said 150K is perfect for a transpan drop and diff service.
They want 19K. Rust belt but little rust. I have fords with over 200K, but they were really taken care of and I knew history when I bought them.
What do you think?

May be able to do better on the price $15K ? Watch the rust on brake lines and bed rails, and rotors from sitting, look closely. Check the fluids for general condition. My '11 6.2 has 147K, had it just over two years and I'm thrilled with it.

Good luck!!!

Thanks!
Yeah, I got a better look and ran a professional scan tool.
-Some light frame rust, lines look coated (like my grand marquis, so not an issue, I'm an expert on rusty tubing though!). Will put it on a lift if I buy.
-Has PS issue, either rack or leak, couldn't test drive - they are going to repair. Could also be(in addition) a bad intermediate shaft from Ford experience. Not a big deal, it don't have electric steering.
Found a WHOLE BUNCH OF CODES -
Two bother me, B1310-14 and P0230-14. Those mean it didn't start or stalled, I know it had very low battery voltage but in my experience that is notable. I read these trucks have a fuse TSB.
Code for a parking sensor and TPMS(not worried)
Lots of UCodes (lost communication) but those are the same codes I get on my continental when the battery dies.

LTFTs are 10 for both banks, that could be a dirty MAF. Engine sounds excellent. The guy there said the engine will long outlive the truck.

15-16 sounds fair to me, I see 14 as a minimum on kbb.

The Fuse TSB is for fuse 27 on the fuel pump, it melts. The TSB relocates it to fuse 70.

I guess that explains those codes,. I know when I test fuel pump relays (pull them out) I get that code on Fords.

I'm sure you will love the power of that 6.2 but maybe not the gas mileage. I'd like to have one myself!

Getting 10MPG + or - towing an 8,000 lb. RV. Not towing getting 16-17 MPG highway driving easily. The power of the 6.2 is impressive, it tows the RV effortlessly.

My 2003 4X2 5.4 got 17-18 mpg, my 2013 4X2 6.2 gets 16-17 mpg, both have a 3.55 rear gear and automatics.

Have a friend with a 6.2 in an F250 4x4. Don't know the YM but he drives all over Texas doing site work for oil wells. Last time I saw the truck it had over 300,000 trouble free miles on it. He gets around 17 mpgs hiway and yes, he drives it like he stole it. They are a pretty stout rig. In my opinion, unless you have credit issues which is your business, they're outa their mind asking 19 grand for a 9 year old truck with heavy mileage. Not sure I'd be open to considering the rig at 12 grand. Here's one in Dallas but they don't list the engine size for 12 grand. There is a pic of the engine though if you know what the 6.2 looks like.

They are asking 20K in another ad I found, it is crazy! The one I'm looking at is a 150 w/6.2L but has every toy known to man, so the price should be higher. The truck in your link is not optioned like this one. So lets say that would push it it to 12K or so.
KBB gives a range of 14-18. It also has some rust underneath being upstate NY. I think the step board is gone too. Credit is not an issue, I have cash. The truck was on a big dealers lot almost a year ago according to Carfax, no takers. It is not a buy here pay here place but they do alot of bad credit.
I can't test drive either until they fix the steering. Starting to have second thoughts. I see some in other (rust free) states around the 15k mark. Starting to think 14 is right. There are just two oil change records listed. I doubt the diff or trans had any service. The trailer hitch looks used, comes from a rural area with lots of farms. Could have been used for towing to its max for all I know.

Youd be surprised how many northern trucks get relocated and sold in Texas because people aren't accustomed to look for rust in Texas. And of course trucks are big buisness in Texas

That's a 6.2. The 2011 Super Duty only had 2 engines - 6.2 gas or 6.7 diesel.

The truck has a flex fuel sticker on it so it's not a diesel.
