Whats a better buy? 11' F-150 3.5 4x4 or 13'-14' F-150 V8?
Guys,
Which do yo think is a better buy?
I'm in the market of buying a used Ford F-150 truck from private owners and I've narrowed it down to 2 vehicles:
2011 Ford F-150 Supercrew 4x4 (Original owner)
V6 3.5 Ecoboost
87.5k Miles
New tires
New brakes and rotors
Fresh tune up
Ned rolling bed cover
Chrome Package
$13,500
or
Several 2013-2014 F-150 Supercrew V8 2WD(Second owners)
70k - 80k Miles
$17,000
All trucks come with standard features.
I ask this because I'm a little concerned about buying a truck that is 1 yr shy of being 10 yrs old. In overall the 2011 truck is in excellent condition as the original driver has registered 8k miles a yr and after (May He Rest In Peace) passing away it was inherited by one of their family members. The family member has driven the truck for 3 yrs now adding 15k miles a yr.
What is your experience with buying a 10 yr old truck?

I definitely don't need a 4x4 since i dont do any towing, It will be my daily driving vehicle. This is where it gets hard, its a good looking vehicle in great shape at a good price, but reliability is my main concern. I do't have a problem with shelling out 3 more grand for a slightly newer truck with less miles.
