2009 Lariat Add Power Fold Steps and Mirrors?

I am looking at getting a 2009 Lariat Crew Cab 4x4. I do not really like either interior color in the platinum and the new King Ranch leather seems too red to me. Therefore I am considering the Lariat with Black interior, but I would like to add power folding mirrors (I park in a garage daily and this is a must) and Power folding steps.

Are these two things simple to add to the truck? How much $$ would I be looking to spend on the parts alone? Thanks.

I know the amp power steps are around $1200 you can regularly find them cheaper then that though. I don't know about the power fold mirrors but odds are it could be something you could try to work into the deal or just order one and add them on.

Would the power fold mirrors require additional wiring or new switches? I am not opposed to taking everything apart and doing it, I'd just like to know what parts something like that would need.

I would think odds are its pre wired for it but don't quote me on that I don't have an 09 at my disposal to mess around with.

They are not usually prewired for the power fold mirrors, at least the 04-08 trucks were not. You typically need the actual power fold mirrors, the power fold relay module and the mirror switch too I think. You probably looking at least $500 or more in parts.

It's odd that Ford did offer the power fold mirrors as an option on the 08 Lariats and FX4 Luxury package, but they do not for the new 09's. Maybe they will bring back that option in later models (next year or two)?

You would be better off searching the 04-08 forum to see how others have done the power fold modification, and then try to figure out what changes there might be for 09.

must have power fold mirrors

I just test drove a new 2009 Lariat supercrew and loved it. However, I must have power fold mirrors for parking in my garage, etc. When I contacted Ford, they said you must purchase King Ranch or Platinum. Therefore, I'm waiting until this feature is added to the Lariat. The dealer is also checking if it could be added aftermarket. The marketing department at Ford must have thought they could force people into buying more truck, but it is just preventing me from buying a truck right now. My 2001 XLT Supercrew is still running strong at only 100,400 miles. Hopefully in 2010 (if Obama doesn't outlaw V8 trucks by then).

Yeah Ford wouldnt tell you you could do that even if you could. Just say to the dealer if you can fit me them mirrors then i will buy thr truck. They should be able to fit them without to much hassle. Esp on a lariat.

The Ford marketing plan worked. I bought a KR instead of the Lariat in order to get the power folding mirrors and the nicer leather seats. With year end rebates the KR was not really that much more than the Lariat.
