Got a 2018 3.5 Ecoboost Rattle under acceleration. Best way to describe it is like a can filled with scrap metal orr marbles which is shaking. Am worried it has to do with the turbos maybe. Anyone else have this sound or is this just an ecoboost noise?

 

I doubt it has anything to do with the engine.

Check the exhaust heat shields.

 

Does it go away if you use premium gas? Are you still on warranty? Do you have more than 40k miles on the spark plugs?

 

same happened to my 2017 3.5 eco boost. It was a vacuum line for the 4 wheel drive. The sound was the 4x4 partially engaging and grinding. Sounded horrible.

Luckily mine happened within warranty.

 

Switched to premium and it didnt go away! Also 35k KM so like 28k Miles or so, shes a baby

 

Then it's definitely on warranty, take it to the dealer.

 

Did you ever figure out what the issue was? I have a 2018 3.5 with the same issue. Checked heat shields, had torque converter changed and transmission rebuilt as was told that was the issue and still have rattling sound when accelerating .
