Retracable Running g boards

Several years ago I had to get rid of my 2015 F-150. I got sick and now have mobility issues. That meant I was unable to lift my legs high enough get into the truck. I'm in the market again for another truck. Does anyone know how low the retractable running boards go? I'm looking at the Platinums, but the nearest dealer is a bit of a drive and I don't want to go there if they won't work. I've seen writing of aftermarket that drop 6 inches, but how high is that from the ground in a 4x4?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi, 1depd - my FX4 Platinum has a stock suspension and stock tires and wheels. The rear of the truck is somewhat higher than the front in this configuration. My running boards are 13" off the floor of my garage at the front, and 15.5" at the rear. The truck has grab handles at ALL four doors now. I don't know if 4X4 is available in the Platinum trims - I think it's just FX4.

Life gets in the way of comfort, doesn't it?

- Jack
