Tuner ?

Hi.
Right up yer alley: https://www.f150online.com/forums/ch...742-tuner.html
There are a couple other devices - TirePaq from Superchips is one such.
Thing is it's a couple hundy and does nothing else but tire/gearing correction - so it makes more sense to add a bit more $$$ and buy a good programmer.
I recommend SCT Xcal3 from VMP. Hands-down.

If you can acquire a decent Edge, Superchips, etc, go for it.
Always check their websites ( or call their tech support) to ensure the prosepctive model is compatible with yer truck.
'88racing will be along to warn you on which older Edge models to avoid due to cable problems...

As long as you've used the device to modify yer PCM's parameters, you need to keep it.
- It's got yer STOCK PCM calibration file saved on the unit.
- it's now LOCKED to yer specific truck.
- It's unsellable in this state - because it's a lot of $$$ to have the manufacturer unlock it.
- If you return to the stock tune, it's unlocked, but all of yer changes are gone.

Sure I would. As long as you are willing to assume some risk (unit is indeed unlocked, no warranty, fleabay scammers, etc). And you pay substantially less than new - the residual on a used device is low.

It's really to bad edge couldn't come up with a more viable fix since Bill's custom tunes are great and there isn't anything wrong with the programmer.....its just that darn cable......and when is it going to leave someone stranded.....
