The worst pick up in the world 4.6L
Okay guys, my problem still haven't gone away. My 2000 4.6L has the worst pickup in the world. It can barely go up a hill, much less tow anything period.
But it can easily cruises at 50-60+mph. I had a bad plug, replaced it. Bad fuel injector, replaced it. Bad catalytic convert clogged up, replaced it. After all that, its still the same slow molasses when it comes to acceleration. Checked all hoses, no vacuum leak. But it does have a 15psi compression reading...in the low area.
Im all out of ideas of whats causing this.
Anyone with similiar issues ?

Sorry its not the cylinder compression, its air compression from the brake booster.
I haven't got around to do cylinder compression test. Going to do it tomorrow once and for all.
DO you know where's the switch to disable ignition when doing a cylinder compression test?

Sometimes just unhooking the pcm connections and making sure they're clean and have dieletric grease on them can cure issues like this....make sure you discconnect the battery before doing this......

lol, well im totally guessing because apparently the ECU/PCM controls the ignition and fuel injections. But it could be the cam sensor on the right bank that isn't working which not sending any feedbacks to the ECU so it can't tell the fuel injectors to eject fuel!
...clogging the fuel line... I dont think it clogged up because the last time I changed the fuel injectors it came out all over and the fume gave me a good headache.
Im going to change the sensor first...then if that still dont fix, ECU swap just be what it needs.
Question:
I was able to locate the cam sensor on the right bank, its right infront of the engine cover. Is there another one on the left bank ? I couldn't see it but there is a cable going down along the engine.

Right Bank (Bank #1), you have your Crank Sensor @ the end of the line (Harness). AC above that.
So maybe you disconnected the AC ? Yea, that will fix her up alright
Maybe you should try the second lug nut , Uhhhh , right bank..

Not sure what you changed, -but it wasn't the CPS. The CPS is located, ~ Left Bank (Bank #2), -just below the Cam cover on that side.

This guy (JBREW) has got to have a petite brain the size of a squirrel, and the attitude of a teenage queen. Apparently he only knows his own truck and talk out of his *** giving advice to people. (I've read just about every comment he posted on my posts and others)
I have told him to stay out of my post and yet he's still sticking his nose in it.
I think he has a problem. I'll crack a tooth in his mouth. That'll fix him up.
But to help him grow his peanut brain a bit, here's a picture of the sensor:
See the "216" in the pic? Above that is the sensor with the wire coming out of it. Driver side on the timing chain cover.
- Im having a guy who works at a repair shop to bring his shop scanner to read all the outputs monday night. But either way, i've snatched an ECU/PCM and will have it programmed this coming week.
