I had bought a Jensen 400 watt amp and about a week with it installed som eparts had melted in amp and the amp was done. Then i bought another amp a Jensen 500 and about a week into it again it just shut off and wiring and all the fuses are good. Any ideas whats wrong with this amp or can it be something wrong with my wiring that is frying the amps?

 

how are you using it? For subs or speakers? Bridged or not? Mono or stereo? Jenson is a low end product and won't take a lot of abuse. F'rinstance, if you are running subs in mono mode, you'll probably need to have at least a 4ohm load. Running less than that could cause the amp to shut down or cook the amp.
