Alpine MRP-F200
I just finished some work for a guy, and he gave me this amp he had just pulled out of his car, since he was trading it in ..
I am in the process of deciding the new system I want to put in my truck .. nothing fancy,j ust some good replacement speakers, an Alpine W205 HU, and enough power to be able to hear it .. I haven't decided if I am putting a sub in yet or not ..
the amp is in perfect shape, and sounded great in his car, so I know it works.
Is this Alpine amp worth throwing into my system ? Would it do a good enough job of driving the replacement speakers?

Well, it is a good little amp. I had a same series Alpine installed in my ex GFs truck and it worked great.
Given that you have a supercrew, here is what I would suggest: Option A) get another high quality 4 channel amp and use it to bi-amp and electronically crossover a set of components in the front and remove the passive crossovers from the equation. Then use a third amp to drive a sub, and the alpine you just got for some rear fill.
Option B) Use that Alpine to run some components in the front w/ normal crossovers, and then a second amp to run the sub (you can get a 5 channel and use 2 channels for the rears and 3 for the sub).
