Currently i'm runnin one 15" RE SX sub. been savin to get a 2nd one and 2nd amp. headlights are already dimming and i hate it. so i'm gonna try to get a optima red top. how do i hookup the 2nd battery? (like get power to it) any "how to's" or pics r greatly appreciated. thanks

a second battery isn't going to help you at all, get a high output alternator instead

Wire positive to positive and negative to negative. DO THIS WITH 1/0. AND FUSE IT both ways!!!

Do the Big 3/4 as well.

stock alt is like a 105 or 130 amp.... not sure but I know its no more than 130. if your lights are dimming already then your already maxing out your alt. another amp is just going to make it worse. look for 200-250 amp

All things merry, you shouldn't be getting headlight dim with one amp and one 15 inch bass driver.

Some dimming of interior and clustor lights is to be expected when an amp's running at or beyond it's maximum capacity [clipping]. But dimming of heads, and noticable dimming I'm imagining, is not the norm with a single amp and sub driver.

Take a look at your power and earth source as well as cable gauge and correct fuse ratings on the power wire as well as the amp.

Considering no faulty components are the culprit, some simple troubleshooting should zero in on the issue.

Good luck.

were not talking about some lame best buy 400w system here. the RE sx can take 1000+ rms all day long. that's at least 70 amps of draw right there. The headlights and taillights can draw a good 30 that's already 100 amps of draw... and if he's got the 110 alt then he's got it maxed out cause the alt isn't going to be charging 110 amps at idle

yea, runnin the SX really kinda stung my budget cuz its so power hungry. im runnin 2 gauge power wire, i think the fuse is an inline 200A, i bought a brand new Insterstate Battery, capacitors suck so that wouldnt help, and on top of that im not sure how much my TV draws. i think the new alt is prolly gonna b my best bet. u think that should support 2 of em?

it'll help, at least you'll rebound faster. I'm going to be running a setup capable of about 2500w at full tilt but I'll rarely ever push over 1000
