Question Black Exhaust Tip?

Anyone got any tips or ideas on what to do for getting a nice flat black exhaust tips on my Magnaflow SIDO system? They came polished stainless steel, but the chrome look doesn't really fit into my F-150's blackout style.

I've heard that engine block spray works well, maybe something like this? http://www.net4sale.com/Shop/pc/view...?idproduct=129

Any tips on prepping or steps to actually paint the tips? Thanks in advance for the info.

i have a blacked out f150 also and had the same problem with the chrome tips. i used 300 grit sandpaper to scuff the chrome then used hi temp matte black spray paint, let it dry, sand it, paint it, sand it, paint it. it has held up very nicely and blends in with the look i am going for.

If you want an all black tip, rbp makes them, and adapters too!

rough scuffing, primer, couple layers of hi-temp engine paint, and a couple clear coats and you got black tips.

Mine aren't tips, just the pipes turned out and angle cut then painted with heat resistant paint. I didn't want the chrome look either.
