no, this is what i was talking about. it's a relay. it basically just runs all of the power straight from the battery to the ballasts and it just uses the stock wires as a "switch" so to speak since the stock wires aren't large enough to give power to the ballasts.

$20 bucks for a relay, ring terminal, and some split loom? jesus...they use 14 gauge...the wiring in my truck is pretty close to that. Seems like a way to get you to spend way too much money...and do you need 1 harness per light? or is it one harness per pair?

yeah you can go out and build one yourself for a little cheaper, but theirs are all loomed and neat. you need one harness for every pair of hids. so one for fogs and one for headlights. it's not just a way to get you to spend money. without a relay the lights are more than likely to flicker on and off. most of the problems that people have with hids it is because they bought a cheap kit that didn't come with a relay and there lights aren't working right. plus they are safer for your truck. idk about you but i would pay 20 bucks to know that my truck isn't going to burn to the ground some night. you can get them from xenonlink.com for 15bucks i believe, and i think they are the same thing.

After reading this thread, and since I had just ordered two kits for my rig, I called ddmtuning up to order two of the relay kits.He asked me what I was using the HID's on and when I said F150, he said I would not need the relay kit. I'm not sure if I should have, but I said O.K., I guess I won't buy more stuff then. Sure hope I don't have to order them later. Maybe someone here could post a list of the parts needed to build this relay kit? Sure would save me two weeks of waiting for the kit. I'm a long way from San Diego...

Looks fantastic. Can't beat HIDs. You say it took 2 hours from a professional installer? I could be wrong but I don't remember it taking that long. Is re-aiming the headlights included in the time it took him?

If not, your first priority should be re-aiming them. Other than that great job. Truck is coming along nicely.
