New Wheels, Tires, and PTM bumpers!

I posted in the wheels and tires section as well, but wanted to post more pictures here of the overall new look of my brothers truck, which is a 2008 XL Standard Cab. Did quite a bit of upgrading. Other than the wheels and tires, we got him a new bumper from an 04-05 (thanks "thenewbreed") and had it painted to match. Also had his existing rear bumper painted (thanks to b2therad for the painter recommendation). Here are the pics. By the way, the conversion to fit the 04-05 was quite easy. So if you like the square fogs better than round, don't hesitate. Let me know what you think!

After

Great new look

That's awesome! I really like the way you did the front bumper, with the textured top half, I kinda wish I did that with mine... The only thing missing (IMO) would be some XLT mirrors, I know they did wonders for my truck. What wheels are those? They look great on it!

To each his own I suppose, but I personally really like it. It reminds me of textured rub stripes on VW's

I think maybe a PTM grille surround would really set it off!

(Sorry, if the picture seemed like a thread jack. Once again OP, I'm really diggin' it!)

I agree with AZ! Awesome look!

Here's an idea: PTM surround and leave the h part textured. Just enough to break it up I bet

Yeah we weren't sure at first about the upper bumper, but like it now that its done. And the XLT mirrors would be nice. I thought about that too. As for the wheels, they're 22x9.5 Black Rhino Sabi's. Had the hardest time finding a black wheel that gave the look he wanted. Loved these.

Well this is a two-fold answer. 1. Would have cost more. 2. Since its just an XL, that upper bumper is the textured plastic, as is the grill and grill surround. Felt just painting it to match would have looked more awkward than leaving it black since it would be different textures. And the amount of prep work to smooth it to make it match would have led to the "more money" argument, along with buying a new upper bumper. I really liked it once it was all said and done. The whole "painting" the bumper thing was a way to cover up my mistake. I jumped the gun and helped buy that new bumper with the fogs in it assuming it would match his rear bumper. Well it didn't. It was high gloss and his rear bumper was matte. So painting was the only way to make them match and he wasn't counting on spending that money. So as estimates went up, he was less excited about doing them.

Might be something we consider down the road. Thanks for the compliment!

looks great man! big turn around for that truck. i dont know you or his plans for headlights, but i would like to suggest these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2004-...item2eb3144dd5 .

these lights are more of a flat/matte black kinda like the bumper pad and grill and might help the bumper pad's cosmetic fit..
